It's been a long time since I've seen that place so rowdy. Not once did I hear anyone tell someone else to sit down. There were no blue hairs in sight. HUSKER/POWER chants were ear splitting.
Tommy is managing the offense well. He's growing up just like I'd hoped. He was 9-13 on the night for 69.23%. (If not for Bell dropping that last pass, Tommy goes 10 of 13 for 76.92%.)
Tommy also Rushed 13 for 96 yds (7.4 YPC). The guy executes the zone read fabulously.
Ameer was tough inside as usual, cut well on the outside, and found running lanes with his great field vision and acceleration you don't see on TV.. 35 for 229 yds (6.5 YPC).
The best I've seen the O-Line play in years for a game of this magnitude against a team with that talent. They took it to the Canes front 7 relentlessly.
Front 7 on defense is still soft. The freshman QB had all day to throw the ball. There's not many blocks shed by this group, little to no pressure, LB's out of position. They tightened up when the chips were down though. So I guess it's more of that bend but don't break stuff. The crowd did all they could to help them.
