I forgot we had Clippard, he's a laughing stock and apparently ESPN fucked up on a graphic they showed this morning then. Okay, outside of that abomination, zero pitchers with a recorded save.

Avi is hurt... Leury is a utility player, at best. Try again.

Really dude... Leury Garcia? lol

This is the worst team the MLB has seen in a minute. No one compares. No joke, the majority of this roster is made up of borderline minor/major league players... or guys like Mike Pelferey/James Shields who should have quit a year or two ago. It's a joke, and I love it.

Fangraphs does project the White Sox to be the worst team in the majors over the remainder of the season. It's not very close either. You don't usually see teams projected to do that poorly.

Exactly. I don't think people get it. The White Sox have a pitching rotation comprised of cast-offs, who are lucky to have a job in baseball. They would be LUCKY to make the back end of most other rotations. A bullpen comprised of Tyler Clippard, and unimpressive youngsters totally not ready for the MLB. Then, they have a lineup with only two players above replacement level, and that's when Avi Garcia is healthy. (Davidson floats around replacement)

It's really quite impressive how bad they are.

The White Sox make other bad teams look like contenders.

Hurt = not on team? :noidea:

Anyway, enjoy whatever it is you are so convinced of.

No, I'm just saying he's not on the active roster right now. lol. He's not in the lineup. Which is what I'm looking at. Not that he'd bring us much closer to the rear-ends of SF and Philly if he was.

Anyway, enjoy whatever it is you are so convinced of.

What does this statement even mean? There is nothing to be "convinced of". The White Sox are so far and away the worst team in baseball, it can't even be rationally debated.

The sky is blue, grass is green... The White Sox are the worst team in the MLB.This is a fact. They're also probably the worst team the league has seen in a while.

They make the Phillies and Giants look like contenders dude. Seriously. Take a peak at that FanGraphs page. That's not normal...

Yeah, the White Sox are going the Astros route of things with the no fucks given approach. They know they suck and are embracing every second of it- but are going to pay in full for years of directionless leadership.

With luck they have a competitive team in 2020

Shit, looking at that pool of prospects, you never know. That's a lot of really appealing prospects, and a boat load of lottery tickets after that. People thought it would take the cubs a year or two and they ended up going to the NLCS and won the WS the first two years of the window. Puckett, while definitely not a high stock value and I have big doubts about him, could conceivably be a #4 some day- he's the 25th ranked WS prospect right now. That's depth.

2018 is actually quite realistic. Don't be silly. Most of our prospects will be 24-25+ by 2020.

The Cubs were sitting in this exact position, not all that long ago.

Exactly. Next year will be telling of how quick it's going to be. However, like the Cubs. If a few prospects hit right away, it could really get things rolling downhill. People really don't remember how quick that switch flipped for them. They were not supposed to go to the NLCS in 2015.

Yeah, but the old saying holds ever true "prospects are suspects." The Royals had a tremendous system headlined by pitching once: Some of those big time prospects? John Lamb, Danny Duffy (nearly quit baseball and was largely not good until recently) Mike Montgomery, Chris Dwyer...

Or on the flip side, it was just a couple years back in 2014 when the Royals still had a pretty healthy system by most estimates. Now it's largely terrible at the upper levels. Some hope at the lowest levels but only an idiot hypes up guys 3-5+ years from the bigs.

Split the difference and say 2019. Prospects need a year or two usually.

As you just pointed out, they have by far the worst team in baseball. It's a lot to ask for prospects to take them from there to contending next year.

Oh, 100%... I agree. However, I am simply talking about the earliest date possible to be competitive.

Saying they'd need luck to be decent in 2020, is a bit pessimistic. IMO. I think 2019 would be exactly on schedule to make a run at a playoff berth, if you were to map out an optimistic, yet realistic plan.

That's what I meant, actually. 2019. It's late... lol. I guess you weren't as far off from my thinking as I thought.
