He rarely does. My impression of his scale over the years is:

A+ or A is excellent.
A- or B+ above average.
B or B- is average
C+ or C is below average.
C - or lower is poor.

I have seen some C- in the past but pretty rare which makes sense. How many teams just draft poor overall.

I remember Mel dogging on Seattle's 2012 draft class.... Russell Wilson was the worst move of the draft ! Some annalists gave Seattle an F in 2012....


As if the day wasn't bad enough, Seattle selecting Russell Wilson, a QB that doesn't fit their offense at all, was by far the worst move of the draft. With the two worst moves of the draft, Seattle is the only team that received an F on draft day.

He has averaged beating Indy with Luck by an avg of 20 pts, he would still beat the Colts throwing from a wheelchair. You just need him to retire period to have a shot ,your team will only win then

I'd be more intetested in seeing rating of people's ability to rate before taking much stock in their grades. Every analyst like Kiper should be held to some statistical standards for their grades. And if people suck at it, we should stop listening to them. My guess is most people suck at draft grades and making predictions on games or fantasy but if you keep track, the people that are the best of at it, get way less attention over the same old blowhards that have been around forever inflating the importance of their opinions.

Go back and look at past drafts. If a team landed a couple of starters it was a very good draft. Add in another solid contibuter ot two and it's a great one.
Amazing the number of drafts where in short order that few of the players if any lived up to thier draft billings or even remained with the team
