We have to decide. Are we building for the future or trying to make a run now. To try and do both at the same time is hard. If you are going to trade for Alex, you have a two to three year window. Go for it. If not, then Alex really was just a PR move and not a football decision. Talib isn't the end all be all, but if we bring in a bunch of "young" scrubs next week, I'll know we are no longer even trying to win.

sty , you plan on 5 years and hope for 3 years our issue has been that we dont stick to a plan . until we stick to core values we wont be anything

look at the above comments . sign aging free agents and trading for guys who are hurt . make a push with them for a one year wonder .
this has been the snyder strategy since day one , it has been criticized , and shown to be wrong but yet after a year i see the same short cut policies being advocated

i think we have a good young base . we still need more but impatience will doom us again

At the risk of appearing redundant, let me ask, with respect to both the 49'ers and Rams. Why is it that other teams are able to build contenders within two or three seasons, and we are constantly in 5 year rebuild mode?

You know the answer and I agree. We don't pull the trigger on Cousin's 3 years ago when we could have had him for $16 mill or so. We let both Pierre and DJax walk. We probably overpaid for Norman, when that money should have been used for a DLman or ILB. This FO has no clue. They restart every two or three years trying to figure it out.
