Well that depends. If they are paying him $20 MM per year, I would say not a great move. ;)

The deal, which is for four years, puts a three-year, $11.254 million extension on the end of a one-year deal he had in place. The deal includes $6 million in full guarantees with the an additional $2.25 million in bonuses, according to sources.

The total guarantee in McManus' deal is $8.25 million, making him the fourth-highest-paid kicker in the NFL.

Good deal. Locks up a very nice piece of the puzzle for the team at a reasonable rate. He is now the 4th highest paid kicker in the league and I would say talent wise that about lines up with where I would put him.

Glad to hear this. The less they have to worry about next off season the better.

Cutting TJ Ward is starting to pay off. We are using his cap savings to extend more valuable players I love it.

Ward was a FA at the end of the season. So either way we were going to have the money had we let him walk in the off-season which appears to have been the plan if he didn't play for less.

Well the team did still save $4.5 million whether that be this year or next.

Well yea, right- I am just saying either way his contract was off the books next year. Wasn't like we had money tied into him for years beyond this year.

Very true. Talib to me is going to be the interesting one moving into next year of whether he is still with the team. Saves the team good money to take him off the books and he has shown some signs of breaking down. Plus the need to extend Roby long-term I'm sure is somewhere in the future.

I actually thought Talib had his best year last year with us.

It really just depends on how he plays this year. If he played like he did last year we keep him. If he shows a decline and Roby looks good then we may make that move. It really depends on those two, but Talib pretty VERY well last year.

After a down year for Roby we have some time on him to sign him long term since we picked up his 5th year option. Be nice if he played lights out this year so we lock him up after this year, but if not we have that 5th year to evaluate a long term deal with him.

Sorry should have clarified...his actual play on the field didn't decline. His back continuing to act up throughout the year has me nervous. Back problems don't usually get better over time. Hopefully it was just a pulled muscle that with time off this offseason was able to heal.
