You can't have 7, there are head-to-head matchups each week.

Having odd numbers is really not a problem... Depending on the rules, you would give a team a bye, the bye can act as an automatic win, it can just be another game or the rule I like best is that the team gets a win if they are better than half of the other teams and a loss if they are worse than half of the teams... if they are the median team then they get a tie- and what this rule would do is actually protect from the dreaded sucky team making the playoffs...

Hopefully we don't get an odd number, but I don't mind going into the season with one...
