I think ESPN is 10 to retain eligibility/gain it so it could be something discussed as a rule change. Not sure about other sites

If I remember correctly it is this league only and it was intended to prevent the RP/SP problem.

Makes sense, but if like in this situation Rooker played 14 games last year and according to the league rules he only needs 10 this coming season to gain the eligibility back, does it make more sense to move the eligibility to 10 the previous and 10 the current season to regain/gain eligibility somewhere? I'm just spitballin for this since it doesn't effect me this time

I totally understand... we all focus on the issues that affect us first...LOL

the way I see it though... the baseball season is so long, that you can wait until he gets his eligibility... and if he never gets it, then he never deserved the eligibility in the first place...

I don't disagree with that logic at all.

However, what's so different about gaining it through the season as opposed to retaining it? I get that he won't be able to be put in that spot until he gains it, if he does, but I just feel like the difference between 15 and 10 isn't so much that moving it down is going to negatively impact anyone

I guess my thinking is, if a player can gain it by playing x number of games during the season, why does it take y games to retain it for the next season?

I'm moving on to other things. Best of luck, gang. I do have a piece of feedback on positional eligibility since it's been brought up.

Last year I kept a player, Jonathan Aranda, who I think had 3B eligibility when the season started. I'm 100% sure he had it when the draft was completed anyway. Aranda began the season on the injured list and when he came off of it he was a utility player only. So, I tend to roll with whatever a platform does with that stuff even if I don't quite grasp the settings...however, removing a player's eligibility after a preseason draft is over is a big no-no in my eyes.
