Ignore the trolls, folks. Let them stew in their own stupidity - we don't have to feed their need.

Yeah, responding to them is about the worst thing we could do. Let them talk to themselves and see how much fun they have doing that.

I think Matt Cain will be fine. By the end of the year he will have a winning record and an ERA around 3.00. At worst.

Anyone remember when Red Sox pitched Keith Foulke 2 innings per game so many times in the playoffs. He was never the same after that. A World Series title was worth it. I think Giants pitching success also revolves a lot around Sergio Romo staying dominant as well.

Prob is, Romo is a glass-man. He is super-dominant, but he just does not have the durability to hold on the closer-role for an entire season.

We have a number guys in the minors who should be competing for the closer-role by next season, latest (Heath Hembree, primarily).

Riiiiight. Appeared in 202 games over the last three years. Where does that rank him among relievers? Top 5 probably. And compiled an ERA under 2. You probably ought to research before you post.

Look at his knees, numb-nuts. Look at his IP.

His durability has ALWAYS been his ??. That's one of the primary reasons he was not the closer out of the gate last year. Casilla got the job due to durability.

In fact, it looked like he tweaked his knee a few days back and has not been in a game since.

Do your research before you post on a team site...

'Numb-nuts'. Geez, you SF boys really like to talk about the male reproductive organ.

His knees look like any other players knees when they are covered with baseball pants. If you have seen his knees in the flesh, well, I really don't want to hear about that.

His IPs? Completely normal for a relief pitcher who was not a closer until August of last year. Averaging an inning or more per appearance is not the norm it used to be. Try to keep up.

Ou are probably right.

Your looking at his BBRef page probably gives you better insight into the intricacies of the Giants players than my watching/listening the every game.

Never mind the fact that it is common knowledge that he has consistently been held back due to his knees.

A guy with his stats and peripherals should be a 80 game/year guy every year. There MUST be a reason he isn't.

Sure, if you insist on pretending that baseball is still in the Kent Tekulve/Mike Marshall era.

That sounds right, but I would think I would be MORE sure of that if it were actually the case. We rarely forget arm-trouble issues...

Matt Cain had only one bad start in his opener. Pitched all right to win vs the Chicago sCrUBS.

But the bright is look better then Barry Zito vs the Brewers

Cain has had 2 bed-shittings so far. But I will not be concerned about him until the ASB at the earliest. His bed-shitting in Milwaukee was, after all, at Miller Field...
