I had to dvr it and just finished watching. I was able to stay in the bubble all day. I've always liked Sergio and was rooting for him. He did it his way... by missing putts and knocking down flags. A good show it was. Congrats El Nino.

I can't get past the Ryder Cup Sergio so I'm not going to claim that I like him at all.

That said...Congrats Sergio! You owe Rose a little something for his wimpy par save effort on 17, but Sergio's ball striking down the stretch was just more than Rose could handle.

I thought just the opposite...Rose seemed to be getting weaker with his drives...not sure if he tweaked something or just wore down, but the last 4 or 5 drives Sergio was 30 yds ahead of him. Sure enough Rose hit a weak bleeder to the right, and Sergio nailed it with his low cut...300 up hill.

I believe that it was on 15 that that Rose had a reaction after hitting his drive & the commentators made a comment about him possibly hurting his back. Now it didn't appear to hurt him too much (& he still hit a really good drive the 1st time he played 18) but perhaps it was just enough to cause him problems & leave him a little shorter than Sergio as you mentioned. However - overall I think that Sergio just did whatever he had to on the back 9.

Agree...Sergio was just the better player really the last 2 holes...18 & 18 on extra holes. Rose hit a good approach on 15. Sergop just his a great one. Both were great on 16, but Rose was at least a club short on 17. Sergio good short under the hole. As you said a good drive on 18 in reg.

I thought for sure Sergio would choke again like he always does. Never really liked him but good to see him finally win one. I know if Rose would have not missed that putt on 17 or the one on 18 Sergio would probably never win one coming that close, but he came through even after choking multiple times to win.

I haven't like Sergio either largely because of the RC butt kickings the US has been taking...strange I don't feel the same way about the other Euro players.

The birdie putt on 16 was a real choke job...Rose had just made his...so no reason to leave that one short from 4'...then he makes the birdie on 18 when it doesn't mean anything...but Major Winner...congrats.
