thing is we are trying to work as a zone blocking team Gibbs showed us as much as he thought Manning could handle in the zone blocking scheme and Gibbs was right on the money

Manning can't make this ZBS work though. Kubiak's system works best from under Center and Manning with his age has limitations in not being able to execute that to his best ability. He also doesn't threaten the edge like Osweiler can to keep that backside DE/OLB honest. That is one of the biggest parts of a ZBS is the ability to get the DL moving sideways and freezing that back End to then have a huge cut back lane. With Manning in if the original hole is not open there is no hole for the RB.

When you throw in Manning's recent injuries it would be even worse for him to try and run that scheme. Also right now we have 1 OL player that was here in 2013. You are talking about implementing an offense with 3 weeks to go in the season while we are still trying to even make the playoffs. That has disaster written all over it. We will live or die by the scheme we have now.

Haha Gibbs can only work so many miracles. A QB with a bum leg really limits what a ZBS offense can truly do. Throw in with Manning his best attributes are that of reading a defense and making a quick decision of where to go with the ball. The whole turning his back to the defense doesn't end well for him.
