Martrell Spaight

  • OLB
  • Senior
  • 5-11⅞, 236 lbs
  • Arkansas
  • Scouts Grade39
  • Position Rank22
  • Overall Rank260
Production 2 2011 (10/10): 101-9-1.5 *Coffeyville2012 (10/10): 130-13.5-1.5 *Coffeyville 2013 (9/2): 22-1-1 2014 (13/13): 128-10.5-1 Also in 2014: 1INT-4PD-2FF-1FR
Height-Weight-Speed 4 On the shorter and lighter side with limited size potential. Smaller hands and average arm length. Plays faster on tape but top-end speed is below average. Three-cone time is considerably slower than five-year Combine average and raises red flag.
Durability 3 Injured right foot in a lawnmower ancient and missed sophomore season in high school. Frame raises concerns about ability to stay healthy in the NFL.
Intangibles 2 Pronounced SPAYT. Son of Mark and Tela Spaight. Prepares well and puts the time in when it comes to film. Born with umbilical cord wrapped around neck and almost died from lack of oxygen. Had a slight speech impediment growing up. Been counted out because of size in past and thrives on proving doubters wrong. Head coach Brett Bielema said Spaight had some struggles off the field including not being on time academically in 2013, which led to a meeting with Spaight and his father. Brother Mark Spaight Jr. played at Southern Arkansas.

In the 5th round you really cant complain especially if hes an ILB that led the SEC in tackles.

Spaight and jarrett are my two favorite picks. I can see them both developing into starters

Love his attitude, politeness and attention to film work. Didn't realize he loved the film work so much. More I research, more I like him

Maybe he could develop into a London type...that'd be amazing.
