I was going to say, he looked shot toward the end of the season/playoffs. After two long playoff runs his body probably told him it's time.

Funny how he doesn't mention the Flames

Hall of Famer?

I wonder how Tampa would feel if he went in as a 'ning?

Or worse, a Ranger.

Kind of sad how a great, likeable player can destroy his legacy so fast.

He should thank Craig Button for letting him walk away for nothing. I don't think he would have had the same kind of career with the Flames.

Quote while watching him get buried on the Flames from a guy that played in the AHL against him: "Guy plays in every situation and scores 2 points a game in the minors. Comes up to the NHL for the Flames, plays 5 fucking minutes a night chained to boat anchors and doesn't fucking score and gets run out of town for it. Makes no fucking sense at all."

I dont know I would call him a first ballot guy. At least, not based on raw numbers. Dude only had 30 more career points then Brian Propp.

Depending on the year, I could see him waiting one or two. But definitely gets in.

HHOF doesn't honour players with a single team. Only baseball does, far as I know.

Not trying to derail, but Hextall's response was awesome. And gave me another reason to despise Samuelsson.

He's not first ballot to me, either. I think he'll have to wait a few years.

Yes, that's correct. My point was that based on the coaches and management the Flames had at the time, the best thing for MSL was getting out of town.
