Pathetic. I have always maintained that both he and Thornton are more concerned about their lifestyles than actually *winning* anything, this just proves it. Gee, let''s take a look:

- all 3 teams have either won something recently or gone deep in the POs
- all 3 teams are in 2 heavily populated, metropolitan areas where there is plenty to do, big cities are there but also quaint family suburbs where your kids can go to nice schools. In LA for example you can be at the beach and play volleyball in December on a Saturday morning, get home, shower and be in Lake Arrowhead in a cabin in the snow by 6

These two are not willing to pay the price too win, and definitely not two you want in your locker room. They want to coattail it to a Cup while also not sacrificing their comfortable lives. Sorry but at this stage of their careers, you can't have both.

I hope they end up in Edmonton.

On Facebook, where I saw this post, Fish fans are talking about getting Toffoli or Pearson for him. Now that's funny.

No way SJ trades him to a division rival.

More like no way LA takes him even with the Dumbo connections.

Dude has like $13.5 million left on his deal (2 years including this one), is 36 and looks like his game is disappearing.

Pearson or Toffoli? Yes!...in 2005.

I don't think a contender will take him, those teams are usually capped out (LA, NY for sure) and with Anaheim they have a bunch of guys on cheap contracts right now who will need bigger dollar deals not to mention they have a self imposed cap and Marleau isn't part of that.

Murray is a dumpster diver at his finest, following the old Dave Taylor routine of low risk/high reward (Heatley and Stewart come to mind immediately) and that's because of management's cap restrictions.

That leaves lots of other teams, so Mr. Unibrow will need to expand his acceptable teams list but I'd say only 90% those remaining won't have a shot at a Cup. Dude is stuck in SJ for now, maybe revisit it in the summer if at all when teams have space and an idea of what they what to shape their team as for the upcoming season.

Doug Wilson continually shows how inept of a GM he is though, he was left with a stable of good players when he became GM in 2003 but slowly over time has dismantled his roster and not replaced it with the right players. He biffed this one by not moving either of those guys 2 years ago and instead doling out identical 3 year/$20 million deals to guys who were in their late early 30s. Stupid.
