Seems a tad high per year given his recent injury history, but if he coms back at 100% and stays healthy he's worth that kind of cake.

I'm going to predict he won't live up to that contract. I want him to stay healthy because he really is a great player, but I just don't see it happening. Some guys just aren't durable enough for the NHL.

If he stays healthy he is worth it, he is a tremendous player. At this point my guess would be he cannot.

Still glad they signed him though, I'd hate to see him go somewhere else.

5.75 mill per year for a guy coming off a very serious injury. I think Markov did very well.

Erhoff is going to be an UFA at the perfect time. Chicago gave Brian Campbell 7 million per. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if Erhoff got the same.

Sorry Puckhead, but putting this in perspective Markov is coming off a lost season & he got a 2 year deal for the same amount of money he was making. Erhoff had a great year. The Canucks are going to have their work cut out for themselves if they want to resign him. Especially with the cap going up. Heck Florida has 30 million to spend on 9 players & that's just to reach the CAP FLOOR.

yeah, I don't hold out too much hope that we will keep him. just in the wording used.
Bieksa / Salo came out and said that they would take less than market to stay with the team,
and Ehrhoff said he'd like to stay "if the deal is fair market value".

sounds to me like he will shop, and then see if Van will come close enough.

part of it depends on what happens with Ballard though.

Erhoff = decent top 4 D-Man.

$7m/season for Erhoff = cap hell.

I won't be surprised if and when he gets a huge paycheck, but he just isn't worth more than $5M/year. Probably isn't worth that.

I want Error for a two or three year contract, at $4.5-5 per, but I bet he gets $5+ over five plus.
