Mariota to New Orleans??

I'm hearing reports that Carr has suffered a setback and the Saints may be in the market for a veteran QB. There's Rogers, but I can't imagine any team wanting that headache on their roster, so if there was interest in Mariota, here are two questions;

1. Would/should the Commanders trade him?

2. What type of compensation would be reasonable in that trade?

The Commanders should trade him if they can get a third. They can’t, so they shouldn’t. They shouldn’t because we are still responsible for 5.5 mil of his 8 mil contract.

Now, Josh Johnson makes a little more sense now if we trade him.

When will teams like NO learn that they should just suck up a horrible season and be on the Arch train.

I don't think they will and I don't think they should.

I don't think they should because the compensation is probably a 6th. Mariota won two games for us last year.

With Shedeur and Tannihill still out there, I don't think the Saints give us much. If Carr is out, I could see them tank for Arch. Trading for Mariota probably sets them back, big picture wise.

Agreed, he has more value as a backup than a late round pick provides and we are starting Johnson and we never want to go down that road again.
