That’s a hard disagree from me. Literally the only thing that he isn’t better than the other two is experience and health. His over the wall power is raw so he may or may not get that so the other two may have him beat"Celesten is highly regarded, [but] he is merely Seattle's third-highest-rated middle infielder, behind both Colt Emerson and Cole Young, slightly ahead of Michael Arroyo, all of whom rank among Seattle's nine prospects in the top 100 overall. The price has to be right, though," Kerry Miller wrote in a recent article for Bleacher Report. "We're not saying they'll give away the 19-year-old just because they have other options at shortstop. But Celesten is much more expendable than your standard top-75 prospect."
Actually I agree that he is the most expendable of the group. I said it a week or so back. Availability is the greatest ability. He is rarely available compared to the others. Don't be desperate and give him away, but if the right deal came along I would not hesitate. That’s a hard disagree from me. If you want to equate that quote it is literally the Varitek trade. He’s got a guy in front of him so he’s expendable, but at least Dan Wilson was a big league starter.
And I don’t get the MIF argument cause all the “experts” say Celesten will be the only one who can stick at SS. Sure they got Young and Emerson in front of him but “experts” say they won’t play the same position so how is he “blocked”.
Not saying he is untouchable but that makes no sense to me
Without question not all of them will either make it or won’t be dealt. My argument is just against him being the most expendable because of the others. It’s not like Colt is Mr Healthy eitherActually I agree that he is the most expendable of the group. I said it a week or so back. Availability is the greatest ability. The Varitek trade was stupid and always will be stupid. I don't buy the Wilson argument. You need two catchers to play semi regularly. You can find other AB's for the backup if earned. Plus, you don't just give a guy (or two in this deal) for a sad reliever. That was a desperate move predicated by unwillingness to spend money.
Emerson to me looks like he can stick at SS. He has very good range and a strong arm. Young looks more like a 2B with his body type and possible 3B if he can handle it. So I don't think it is a case of being blocked but more of a case law of averages. What are the odds all 3 are major league talent and come up together? Plus you add Arroyo into the mix and you have 4 guys in the same age range. Someone has to go. I think Felnin has the highest ceiling, but also has the highest risk and highest return.
I really don't have faith the guy will hold up.
