Would be a good move too - but not sure why the Red Sox would let him go honestly
I think they are sticking with Smoak at 1st....I see them signing one but not both.Would that mean no way Kendrys is coming back? Or would we have both rotate at 1B/DH?... and wouldn't that leave a constant fielding liability there?

The Mariners extended Morales a qualifying offer which he may end up having to accept. I have not seen on MLBTR about interest in him and any team would have to give up a 1st rounder for him. It is not characteristic of Boras, but Morales may not have much choice.
Morales is a more than capable crutch we might have to rely on....could be way worse.
Middle of the order looking:
Seager
Cano
Morales
Smoak
Plus Choo partially solves our OF problem.I could really live with that.
I think I would prefer to add Choo than Napoli though. Choo fills a bigger gap than Napoli would assuming Morales stays. If Morales goes adding Napoli makes more sense though.

I would actually prefer Morales over Napoli but either way we get a nice power hitting dh so I'm fine with it.
As for Smoak I'm more than okay with him at first as long as we have other guys around him and he's not the sole guy we're relying on to generate runs. His defense is one of the better defenses in the game and I still hold out hope that he can produce more consistently
I agree, I would prefer Morales over Napoli but I would be fine with either.
For whatever reason I have concerns about Napoli. Morales has been solid for us and I think it makes sense to retain him. Napoli does present value for his ability to catch though. I would not give Morales too much money though. We have leverage over him due to the fact that the Mariners win either way and it appears Morales is not drawing much interest.
Yeah, except that he's also a non-hitting DHDont the Mariners already have one a non catching catcher that is a DH.
