  • Braswell already exhibits solid bat speed but needs to add more muscle to his 6-foot-2 frame. He puts together good at-bats, yet he can get overly aggressive and his right-handed stroke can get too uphill at times. The best-case scenario is that he develops into an above-average hitter with average power, and it's possible that he could get a bit faster as he gets stronger.

That speed helps McCants defensively, with enough range and excellent hands to make him a good shortstop. His arm might end up being a tick shy for the position long-term, with a move to second or perhaps center field in his future. His older brother, TJ, has made a similar transition as a freshman center fielder at Ole Miss, but Jordan will head to Mississippi State should the Draft not work out.

  • Hamel exhibits feel for changing speeds and shape with his breaking pitches, and he also has some aptitude for using a low-80s changeup with some sink. Scouts who have seen him the last two years think he's doing a better job of pitching under control and locating his pitches this spring. He has a ceiling of a No. 4 starter and also could be a useful multi-inning reliever at the next level.

Compensation picks

If a team that loses a qualifying free agent does not receive revenue sharing and did exceed the luxury-tax salary threshold the previous season, it is awarded a compensatory pick after the fourth round.
DJ LeMahieu, Yankees - Re-signed with New York. No compensation involved.
Houston Astros
Compensation for George Springer, who signed with the Blue Jays. Toronto forfeited its second-round pick.

so..HOUSTON...... gets pick........132

then is the start of the 5th round..with all teams in there normal spots the rest of the way..so seattle..is 132 and 12 are .......144th pick

odriguez has soft hands and does a nice job of receiving and blocking pitches, and he moves fine behind the plate despite bottom-of-the-scale speed. His arm earns average-to-solid grades and plays up because he makes accurate throws. He has strong leadership skills and earns praise for his ability to manage a game and his pitchers.

Rodriguez focuses on making contact with a simple right-handed swing. He's rarely fooled at the plate, controls the strike zone and hits the ball where it's pitched. He's walking more often and driving the ball more consistently in 2021 after rarely doing so a year ago, but he still figures to top out at 10-12 home runs annually.

Matheu NelsonCFlorida State--225' 11" / 190 lbsRR

1620791077176.png

Strong and compact, Nelson has long had a solid approach at the plate that includes drawing a lot of walks. He’s capable of making loud contact and was doing it more consistently in 2021, which was allowing him to tap into his power to all fields, even with a relatively flat bat path. There are some strikeout concerns that lead to ups-and-downs, but teams might be willing to look past that if they believe he’ll keep getting to the power that made him one of the Division I leaders in home runs in 2021.

Nelson gets mixed reviews on his defense. He does have a plus arm that helps neutralize the running game, but he is inconsistent with his overall receiving. One game might look fine, but the next might show much less reliable hands. Given his streakiness on both sides of the ball, how much a scout likes him will depend on when they saw him, with the team that saw him at his best likely to take him in the top five rounds.

While Norby doesn't wow scouts with an array of plus tools, he doesn't have a glaring weakness and makes the most of what he has. He's an average runner with a knack for stealing and taking extra bases. His average arm limits his utility value on the left side of the diamond, but he gets the job done at second base and may hit enough to be regular there. report »

cuz he can play CF as well....i will take this guy............
With a clean delivery and the athleticism to repeat it, Koger should have at least average control. If he attends college, he could see action as a two-way player because he's a center fielder with line-drive-hitting ability and well-above-average speed. But there's no question that his future is on the mound.

with hancock..and cusick...mariners may have an ace..in the future

heck..i will take franklin later...he has the record...now owns the college baseball TrackMan velocity record of a 101.7 mph.

Ryan Cusick - Baseball - Wake Forest University Athletics2021 MLB Draft Scouting Report: Ryan Cusick - Lookout Landing

Ryan Cusick - Baseball - Wake Forest University Athletics
12. Ryan Cusick
Right-Handed Pitcher, Wake Forest
6-foot-6, 220 pounds
Standing an imposing 6-foot-6, Cusick has good stuff sitting 94-98 mph, ramping it up to 101 a number of times, including once this season. He now owns the college baseball TrackMan velocity record of a 101.7 mph. He mixes in a 12-6 curveball and a changeup, with the former the better of the secondary pairing. It can get a little slurvy depending on his release. Cusick has struggled to throw strikes. His control and the ability to throw good strikes remain a hurdle in Cusick's development. The result is a fastball that really explodes at the top of the zone. Cusick’s breaking ball mirrors the seam orientation and tunneling characteristics of his heater, allowing for a potential big two-pitch mix. Developing a harder, more violent breaking ball will be big in identifying his ceiling, but Cusick has some similarities to Tyler Glasnow. He’s a good bet to go in the first round.

All of Holman’s pitches have a lot of action and he has a feel to find the strike zone with all of them. There’s not a lot of track record yet given his split focus, but he is a college arm with some serious upside, one who could climb boards in a hurry as a full-time starter this spring.

Levi Usher
OFLouisvilleOne of the most tooled up players in the college class, Usher went the JUCO route before matriculating to Louisville. In his Cardinals debut he slashed .411/.484/.571 with a pair of homers in the shortened 2020 campaign. A quick twitch athlete with plus wheels, a strong throwing arm and elite bat speed Usher is an exciting prospect on both sides of the ball. Squarely in the same conversation as guys like Wilson, Franklin Cowser and. Usher will likely get a shot at centerfield at the next level.

not having a good year..in 2021...but they grade him out..high...i dont know if i see mike trout..here
