And since I pointed out how bad that last ref is, only fair to point out how good Kenny Baylis is. Best ref in the business, you don't even notice he's there, and there's really no point to even mention him. About the highest praise you can give a ref is that you don't notice him.

An alien is about to pop out of Thurmans head any minute. That thing keeps getting bigger and bigger. Gonna start affecting his vision soon, and could split easy from any hard shot.

Surprised it went the full 12. They were both headhunting and looking for the knockout from early in round 1. Impressive chin on both guys. Especially Guerrero because Thurman has more power and hit him flush at least once in pretty much every round. Great fight for Thurman to make up for his last one, even without the KO.

Yeah, and honestly I think I like him more as a person than a boxer too. Just seems like a genuinely good guy.

At the end of the day I doubt I'll ever be able to get used to boxing on NBC

I didn't realize he was even fighting tonight, but Abner Mares is I guess one of the undercard fights on NBC sports channel. He's a top tier fighter too, just at the tiny weight classes that nobody watches.

Having Tony Weeks ref the undercard bout and Robert Byrd a main event with Broner (a guy known to try to get away with what he can) was pretty bad decision making. Weeks is right behind Bayliss as the best refs working right now. At least IMO.
