So today started our mandatory mini-camp practices. Figured if anybody hears anything they can post it here.

Few things so far

1) QB order today was 1) Sanchez 2) Lynch 3) Siemian. Doesn't mean much yet as tomorrow that order could be completely reversed but just something to keep an eye on of who they more and more keep putting out as the top guy.

2) Ware was at practice today but only did limited work on the sideline. This is a good sign though that his back is feeling just a bit better.

3) Aqib Talib is expected to fly in tomorrow. No timetable for his return to the practice field but the team doctors seem positive about the outcome.

4) From the sounds of things Sanchez did have the best day of the 3 QB's and while Kubiak would not commit to him being the starter he did seem a bit more confident towards the idea that Sanchez will start training camp as the #1 QB.

5) Anderson and Booker both looked really good today with nice burst and very fluid running style

6) The one really good thing Lynch has going for him is he has impressed with his throwing while on the run.

7) Justin Simmons seems to be around the ball a lot

8) Sunshine is making this roster. I'm going to go ahead and call that. Sounds like he was catching everything on the field today.

Good rundown.

I still think sunshine will do another year on the PS (at least to start the season)

Another somewhat off topic subject is that the 49ers will be doing joint practices with us and the Texans at different times this off season.

I'm not sure they can sneak him through for another year.

Curious CD, What do you base this opinion on?

Well not sure there is a more known PS guy from last year in the league than that of Sunshine. I mean when one of the best QB's to ever play the game says you are going to be something in this league my guess is teams perk up their ears just a bit. Heck I could see a team like the Chiefs who are WR light really wanting this guy.

Throw in he got rave reviews last year and is once again getting rave reviews. I think eventually people take notice. So I think the Broncos won't risk trying to see if they can get another year on the PS out of him.

I had heard Lynch was running 3rd. Here's what DPO says:
Quarterback Mark Sanchez ran all of the first team reps Tuesday and looked really sharp in action. He showed great timing with receiver Emmanuel Sanders, including a 35-yard pass that dropped right over diving safety Darian Stewart’s outstretched hands to a waiting Sanders. He later connected on an over-the-shoulder touchdown pass to Sanders.

Kubiak said the plan this week is to have Sanchez run with the first team, Trevor Siemian go with the second team and Paxton Lynch get third team reps. That’s subject to change next week if the Broncos coaches see fit.

Yeah depends who you listen to of who was 2nd on the depth chart.

I'm not sure they can sneak him through for another year.

Has he really been that great? I've heard he drops a lot of passes. It's not real uncommon to sneak an undrafted WR onto your PS. After injuries build up someone may want to sign a guy like him off your PS but the good thing about that is you have the right to activate him to your own once he is on the PS like Tavarres King. Too early to tell right now but unless he has a GREAT PS and we cut him I don't see him being claimed off waivers before week 1.

But hard for me to judge what we do with him before we even play a PS game so just pure guess.

Just not sure he makes it as I don't see him cracking our top 4 unless he has an outstanding camp and the thing he has going against him after that is he isn't a special teams guy unless that changes this year which I don't see it He doesn't really strike me as a physical, balls out, tackler on special teams and he aint a return man.

I think fans really underestimate a teams want for special teams players when it comes down to those last roster spots. You have to play special teams as a bubble player. Maybe he will be good enough to not have to be a special teams guy, who knows.

I guess when you hear a lot of positives about a player, including a pretty strong endorsement from a HOF Qb, you tend to get excited and your hopes up for these players. After DT and Sanders, the available wr slots is wide open. If the hype on JT is accurate and proves prophetic, PS possibility will be a non-issue. :)

Like I said hard for me to judge right now. This is all a hunch.

PM endorsing JT isn't going to do much for him this year. He has to take care of it himself. We know he works his tail off. My prediction is he will be a Bronco, I just think it will be starting off on the PS again since he doesn't play St's and I will be surprised if he is ready to take on that 3rd or 4th WR spot right now. Nothing wrong with him developing a bit more on the PS for his sake either.. He was a project to start with and he is working his way into something. It just might not be right away this year where he is ready nor we have the room for him.

We will see..

We will find out after seeing more of him in PS.

Not sure why you say doesn't play special teams.Have you had access to camp or inside info to date? Just curious not being smart ass. Haven't seen or heard anything myself regarding who's getting opportunities on STs so far. Actually, not seeing hearing much but the Qbs.

He never played special teams in college, he never played special teams last year and he hasn't played in any special teams thus far.

Guy is 6'5" 200, runs a 4.67 he isn't ever playing special teams.

Pretty sure he ran a 4.52 at his pro day.

Some other thoughts from practice that I have read today

1) Janovich has really shown well so far in practice. He has really picked up the playbook and is doing well to block the right guy on any given play.

2) Looks like our TE group is looking just a bit better this year. Heuerman returned to practice and wasted little time getting involved in the passing game. HKC also kept his strong OTA practices going by making some great catches as well.

3) Ware is expected to actually practice with the team this week at some point. So good sign they have figured out something with his back.

Here is a link to his Pro Day results showing he ran a 4.52

Recent news on Jordan Taylor - Rice Owls - Rotoworld.com

Everyone runs faster at his proday, 4.52 doesn't mean he is a special teams player.

The biggest thing with Taylor is that he has the tools, but he is way underdeveloped. Needs to get in the weight room, work out route running and catching the ball before he can be on an active roster. Maybe he has improved enough, only time will tell. He did a whoppin 9 bench presses at his proday, he needs to get stronger. The speed isn't a big concern to me for a 6'5" guy, he is never going to be a speedster which you don't need to be there are others ways to make an impact. I just don't see him as a special teams player given his size, lack of strength and no experience.

My point is if he wins a job on the active roster he is going to have to stand out as a WR, not as a killer special teams guy, because those last few spots come down to that, and other then DT every WR returning from our roster last year played well on special teams. Sanders and Norwood as Special teamers not that it matters for Sanders because he is a starting WR, Fowler and Latimer as special teams gunners and kickoff. If Addison or Raymond knock off Norwood as the PR then Taylor may have a shot to make it as that 6th WR (if we even keep 6 this year)... But even as a WR Norwood is much more polished. It's anyones guess right now, but my prediction is he goes on the PS to start the season. My guess is if we keep 6 WR's it will be someone like Addison as a return man assuming if the happens he beat out Norwood who doesn't really return kicks. Taylor surely is not a return man. There is nothing wrong with the guy going back to the PS. If a WR goes down and he has worked on the things he needs to work on then we could see him up if and when that happens. I don't see another team claiming him if he is cut right before the season. But again, really depends on his PS, if we keep him or put him on the PS. Ive got my early money on our PS. Manning gave him his endorsement for working hard in practice and staying extra to help him. That is nice and all, but this is a business not a popularity contest. He's gonna feel a lot of pressure even to make the PS this year. He may end up not even making the PS if he isn't careful.... Only time will tell...

and before someone says it in a future post down the line. This doesn't mean I am rooting against or dislike Taylor. I am just being honest in my early opinion.

I love Iowa CB BJ Lowery and have a personal relationship with him, but I have the same prediction about him.

Here is to him being the next Randy Moss!

I love Iowa CB BJ Lowery and have a personal relationship with him, but I have the same prediction about him.

Here is to him being the next Randy Moss!

Couple of things here...

1) I do know that he has worked hard to improve his strength. From what I have read he actually tried the bench press again this year and took that 9 reps up to 14. With his long arms 14 is actually pretty impressive. Shows he has really worked hard not only on the field but also in the gym.

2) Again this is hearsay I guess but I have been told he is looking much faster in practice this year compared to last year. So maybe he truly is at that 4.52 speed.

3) He has gotten endorsements beyond just Peyton Manning. Kubiak, Dennison, Siemian just to name a few have all spoken highly of the work this kid has done so far this off season. So at least right now he has been turning some heads.

Like I said I am just making the bold prediction that if this kid stays healthy I do think he is on the final 53 man roster. You are right special teams is huge and right now he hasn't shown himself to be anything on the special teams. That doesn't mean though he hasn't worked on that this off season and maybe he does become that kind of guy for us. What I would love to see is him on field goal defense running up the middle to block the kick. With his height, wing span, and vertical he would definitely make some field goal kickers think about having to kick it just a bit higher. He definitely though needs to prove he can at least be a gunner on punt coverage.

Right- I understand it is just a prediction. Not saying you will be wrong, nobody knows. Just stating why I think he ends up back on the PS. Special teams reps, 40 aside I just don't see him as a special teams contributor here whereas some of the other WR's I do or have already. It really comes down to roster space.

Could be wrong.

Ask me again after camp and PS and I may like his chances better. Or he may not even be good enough for a PS spot. We will know more in July/August.
