Oakland has signed 2 pretty big FAs already in Osemele and Irvin. With the young talent they already have and adding these (plus, I'm sure they aren't done), the Raiders seem to have come a long way since the JaMarcus Russell and the guy with the fastest 40 time days. We could lose a lot of momentum in the division this off season.

That being said, I do have to say that it's good for football that Oakland is becoming relevant again. Makes them easier to hate.

They have been smarter than before but really could they have gone any lower? They finally started hitting on some draft picks but so far FA wise they still haven't done a ton. I do however like the guys they signed this year. Irvin is probably more of a part time starter than a full time guy as he is a bit limited on some of what he can do but it does help make Mack's job a bit easier. The OL guy they got played really well at LG for the Ravens and did well in his short time at LT but he still only has a few starts at the LT spot. So paying him top-5 money for the LT spot after a few spots would be like us paying Osweiler $20 million. Huge risk off very little tape. Those things don't always pay off. Still the Raiders had to spend a ton of money this year so makes sense to overpay for some talented players.
