Atta boy, Malts. A flat out stand up guy, and a class act. He took a lot of guff from Cherry and others for his style of play and his refusal to fight, but a lot of people don't know that he suffered a torn retina after getting high sticked early in his career. The doctors told him he could either wear the visor, or risk never playing again. I probably wouldn't be dropping the gloves either if I had major eye damage.

Maltby spent a lot of time in children's hospitals, youth hockey camps, and donating his time at the Salvation Army. I'm glad he's still in Michigan. Good luck Malts.
