Macklemore bobblehead night, are you serious?

Wow.

Against the Yankees no less? The Mariners sure are picking stupid games to use up their promotional gimmicks, the series against the Yankees is one of the few that are actually hot tickets these days. No need to throw in a stupid gimmick of a talentless sellout to get people in the ballpark.

If the Mariners want to use marketing tactics to get people in the ballpark, plan more fireworks nights. I went to the first fireworks night last year and it was honestly quite impressive and I really enjoyed it.

But seriously, am I the only one that thinks it is pathetic that the Mariners are leeching off of Macklemore's recent fame to try to get people into the ballpark? Before he got popular, he performed at opening day for the Mariners and it appeared as if 3/4 of those in attendance were not even paying attention.

Macklemore has been a huge and vocal M's fan for over a decade....long before he found fame in the mainstream.

He wrote a very touching song when Dave died. And another when Ichiro left.

Not a terrible bobblehead night, IMO.

My only issue is if they'd spend half of their marketing money on better players they would put more butts in the seats than their silly promotions and do a lot more to repair the damage done to their fan base over the last decade.

Before he found mainstream success I was actually a huge fan of his. Since he released The Heist I can't stand him anymore, it was a garbage album and after hearing his worst songs replayed over and over again on the radio I just can't stand him anymore.

He wouldn't be the first fan to get his own bobblehead. I have no problem with it and as much as people might hate that the M's are spending money on promotions like this, I seriously doubt that the amount of money spent on these things would have been enough to bring another player here even if there weren't separate budgets for promotions/ballpark stuff and the team itself.

I get having bobbleheads, but they are basically for children or collectors. Kind of odd that the Mariners would be giving kids things of a musician who children should not be listening to. Makes sense for hyping him with football because football isn't a family sport.

Why shouldn't kids listen to Macklemore? He's not even close as bad as most music out there right now.
