Cleveland used the transition tag on Mack, effectively taking him off the market. There goes the best C FA this year. Probably couldn't have afforded him anyway.

The transition tag is just a means to get another team to do the heavy lifting on a contract for you. Let some one else negotiate the terms, if you can accept them you match the deal. If not you let the guy go. We could have gone after Mack, but now in order to get a deal done, you have to over pay the guy so the Browns dont match. And apparently we arent over paying any one in DC.

The last line.....aparently we arent overpaying an yone in DC.......You make it sound like a bad thing....Isn't it nice to see that we are showing financial restraint for a change? I think it is!!!!

Its fine if we arent over paying any one. Its stupid when we are going to the extreme with it and saying that for fear of overpaying we are willing to create more holes in our roster that dont need to be created. And the fact that peole are screaming we need to go after other FAs who we will over pay but should do everything we can to be as stingy as possible with our own is a bit odd. Because Im willing to bet if we sign Talib to a contract like Grimes just got.. no one will scream over paid despite the fact that he will likely get more than he is actually worth.

I am on your side!!!! Guys want to lowball Riley, when the Market is clearly a higher number then what these "fans and Experts believe...."" 5 mi for Riely nothing more, we can do better in FA.....I dont buy it....Not for 5 Mil....and like you have said.....we know what we have in him..in our scheme....these FA we dont know.....I would think that being burned time and time again by FA.....guys would be more then happy to get a SOLID player, that Players every fucking game and not 9 games but makes play in those 9 games.....guess what...when lee went out, his replacement SUCKED.....the combo of Lee and his backup were not as good and consistent as Riley!!!!

Wate.. .its all good. I just get tired of hearing how our guys are not playmakers and thus deserve to either play for way less than market value, or leave and we can bring in cheaper options. At some point changing players every year you are just spinning wheels. And Im getting damned tired of seeing guys who the Skins let go because they were not play makers, playing in the playoffs and in some cases the Super Bowl year in and year out... for other teams. Mean while we keep chasing the play makers or figuring we can get the same production for less money.

Generally speaking we pretty much agree on alot of things....Which to me tells me you are a SMART MAN!!! Now when you come around on RGIII after this season, it will confirm you are SMART like Lonewate44!!!!

When he consistently plays like a franchise QB, I will call him that. Right now he spent most of last year looking like a spoiled insecure brat to me. I just call it like a i see it. :)

His Rookie year he played like a Franchise Qb.....Put the team on his back and Willed them to victories.....now, an offseason to work on mechainics, not injured, you will see year 2 was the aberation and NOT the norm....

Wate... thats the thing. I dont have an issue with his play in year two. He was coming off injury and I expected it to be a down year. What I have and do fault is his actions. To me he did and said everything he could to get his coach fired. Which to me was the real issue there. He didnt like what the coach wanted him to do, and to me it looked as if he was actively working to get the coaches fired. So if he doesnt come back and lite it up now that he has a more acceptable coaching situation, Im going to be merciless.

IM staying out of that dude. I made my piece. I have stated all along what I expect out of him as a player in order to make the deal worthwhile. Other than that, we can all have our own opinions of him.
