Hey Guys so tomorrow I am interviewing Mac Williamson on my podcast (will be over the phone).

Just wanted to know if there are any questions you'd like to be asked

Very nice! Congratulations. Very cool.

In looking at his stats this year

Mac Williamson Minor League Statistics & History - Baseball-Reference.com ,

two things jumped out at me:

1) He has 15 HBP in 337 PA's this year, a big increase over his previous years. Is he trying something different this year that results in that, like being closer to the plate, or has he lost fear, or has he lost his mind (lol)?

2) He has 6 SB's this year (and zero CS!), vs zero last year. Is that something he is working on?

Excellent! I will ask him about this tomorrow. I'm really interested to hear what he says about the HBP stats

I noticed he has 2 triples as well, vs none last year. Not bad for a guy who is listed at 6'5" and 240 lb. Is there a conscious effort by him re conditioning/speed (unlike some others in the organization - forget that last comment)?

How did his early injury effect his play this year? He started out REAL hot, than got hurt diving for a ball in the OF and missed a few games. When he came back, he was cold at the plate for a few weeks before he was able to turn it around again. Now he is back to putting up good numbers and appears back on track...

Thanks Guys this is what I have so far. If there is anything else just let me know

Q: Looking at your stats from this season. You have been hit by a pitch 15 times this season. Is that because you have changed your approach at the plate and moved closer to the box or does the baseball just not like you?

Q: Another thing that stands out from what you have done this season is your 6 stolen bases and 2 triples. Have you just become more aggressive this season or does it have to do with your conditioning?

Q: You missed some time earlier this year after diving for a ball. You played very well before the injury but struggled a bit when you came back, but now have turned things around. How do you think the injury effected you when you came back?

Q: You had a great month of June. Hitting .320 with 6 HR's and 21 RBI's. What adjustments did you make to help turn things around and really play well?

Q: Playing for Advanced A-San Jose, what has that time been like for you and what type of routine do you have on the day of a game?

Q: I love how you interact with your followers and fans on Twitter. How important is social media to you to interact with fans?

I added three more questions. Appreciate the support and feedback everyone

Q: You were drafted by the Giants in the 3rd Round in 2012.. What was draft day like for you and how did it feel when you got the call?

Q: Not only have you played well this season but your team also has got off to a great start. Finishing atop the California League in the first half with a 43-27 record. What are your expectations for yourself and the team for the second half of the season?

Q: You guys just got Kyle Crick back after he missed almost two months with an oblique injury. What kind of boost does it give to your team when he came back?

Just finished up the interview. Enjoyed talking baseball with him. He wasn't the type who provides short answers he went in depth in each response. Will post link shortly

If you aren't interested in the NBA draft, the interview with Williamson starts around 01:35.

You did a nice job of just letting him talk. You made it about him and not you, and that's a good thing. He seems like a thoughtful young man. I hope he makes it to The Show.

Nice interview. He really does expand on the answers. I like it :)

A couple critiques...

1) Annunciate. I understand the sound quality is not the same as KNBR, but I didn't have a problem understanding Mac. Slow down when you speak and make sure your interviewee understands. At one point you had to repeat yourself twice before he understood what you said.

2) Flow. Most interviewers do this, so maybe it is the norm and I am just picky. When he showed up, chit-chat a bit. Build some chemistry with him. You said "Hi", then something like "I have a few questions here..." Very cold. Again, I do not know the inner-workings of this stuff. Maybe you only have so long and you just have to get to business. Also, have some follow-up questions based on what he says. I think we get a better feel for both you and the interviewee if the interview is more of a conversation than him verbally filling out a questionnaire.

I want to repeat...

GREAT INTERVIEW.

I am just passing on some critiques that I had while listening. If I didn't "know" you, I would likely not have noticed either of those things.

I love critiques. Listen to them all, read them and take them in. They can only make me better. Thank You

I absolutely need to work on talking on the radio and speaking slowly and clearly. I did a few follow up questions but absolutely could have done more. Appreciate all of this man thank you

Great interview man, I enjoyed listening to all of it. You got a bright future ahead of you, stick with it. As cal said, a couple rough edges but for being early work for you this is great. Keep it up!

Credit where credit is due. Obviously, he needs to do an interview with you before every game from now on. :)

As does Blanco, Torres, Pablo, Craw, and Belt.
