I've come around sty. Although I do believe McLaurin can be a good #1, I think as a number two he would be a nightmare for opposing defenses.
At some point, our organization has to put a team together that gives the opposition bad choices. A pick your poison type of proposition. The last time that we had that was when our team fielded Monk, Clark, and Sanders. So, Terry as your WR2, immediately elevates this team into that nightmare category.

#1, #2, #3…it really doesn’t matter. The QB should be throwing to matchups that favor the WR. The more good options you have at WR, the better.

I agree more options the better. And that's why Terry needs another equally talented option. When he's doubled and dotsons dropping balls and the slot is covered, we don't want Jaylen running for his life. The league is changing to needing 3 solid receivers. Kansas City is the exception

we drafted a wr in round 3 to address that . 3 solid wrs . and we grabbed a TE as well . i am not sure i want to pay what higgins and auyiuk want when next years wr class will also be good . this year we arent ready to compete and i see a 7-8 win team . we have holes at CB , o/line , and DE to get fixed

That is definitely a legitimate concern but Allen is likely gone next year, that clears up some funds. With all due respect to the McCaffrey bloodline, Luke is not going to come in and be the 2nd coming of Terry as a rookie. I think he will be good in a couple years though, im excited about him. You don't think 1 or 2 more veteran FAs get us over 8 wins this year?

Pass on both Higgins and Aiyuk. Neither are worth the trade capital, let alone the money.

Higgins is the big physical WR we are lacking.
We could give him a 4 or 5 year deal and he'd still be in his 20's.
If Cincy truly wants to move on, i could see him being moved for a 5th.
We have to pay someone eventually, and it's probably not going to be Dotson

What price are you willing to pay?

Contract and draft picks?
