I'm planning a trip to the Southwest US in November, so for selfish reasons, I'm quite pleased that the Coyotes are remaining in Glendale. If I'm lucky, I'll be able to see a game at Jobing.com (methinks it won't be very difficult to score a ticket).

Early season you can sit anywhere (depending on who is visiting). Later in the season, if they are doing well, like the last couple years, the bandwagon gets kinda full.

Not a great quality video, but fun to watch nonetheless

It's kinda insane that this is the second time a franchise is going from Atlanta to a Canadian city. It makes me think that ultimately, there are probably about 20 cities in Canada and the U.S. that can support a professional hockey team without financial concerns while the other markets will probably continue to rotate over time.

I heard they may call the Winnipeg team the Manitoba Moose - the second time an AHL franchise name may be used for a new NHL squad. The other was the Cleveland Barons, which were a short-lived NHL franchise and only further illustrate the point...

I know they want to extend the market reach by going with Manitoba in the name and i know they dont want to lose the moose logo that they have built so much brand recognition with but it saddens me that they wont be the Jets

at the very least i hope they put the Jets logo on the shoulder as a patch if they stick with the Manitoba moose

Or how about they go with the Jets and have the Manitoba Moose logo as a shoulder patch?

That year had to be the easiest Calder Trophy vote in history.

I remember that season well because, as a Sabres fan, we were watching Mogilny explode and getting annoyed by this rookie that was sticking with him goal for goal.

Anyone know the legal stuff with the name?

Not really sure, but the Jets name may be owned by the Coyotes franchise.

Dang tried to add this to my post above....
I think it's interesting that the Oakland team went two different places and just ended up back in the California anyway. That one of the cities they went to (Minneapolis) also lost their team and then later got another franchise. And you find the same thing now with Winnipeg.

As to Jstew...
Yeah, I could totally see a shoulder patch. I read a CBC article I can't find now which said in terms of the business side, the smartest thing the team could do is name them the Manitoba Moose now - new jersey sales, inclusive, established - and then switch to the Jets later - more jersey sales, return to the tradition, etc.

its funny because there was an issue with the Moose name and "moosehead" beer that i dont think has ever been resolved
