I'm glad we were vindicated. Say what you want about Barry, but the hire is defensible. Yes, he had no suitors. And others like Wade Phillips had long, successful track records. But Fangio was apparently not taking the gig here, and Barry has some pretty legit guys speaking up for him. And Wade and others were simply too old.

Given the fact that we've landed McCloughan and Callahan, I'll give the Redskins more than the benefit of the doubt on Barry. He might bust; but as of right now, no one can say it's a bad signing.

There was a more interesting story found through that earlier link discussing the TEs and their salary cap implications. I learned that Paulson's salary doubles this year and they can save $1.75 mil by releasing him. That can't happen fast enough for me. For a "blocking TE" he kind of sucks at blocking. For a "slow, sure handed" backup TE he sure drops a ton of passes. And of course he has fumbling and false start issues. They can surely find a better blocking TE than this clown and it won't cost $1.75 mil
