Fangio wanted to bring Donatell and we insisted on keeping Rahim.

Rich Tandler's Real Redskins

The people upstairs just cannot for the life of them get out of their own way. This is a win win for me. I have soured on Jay, and if things go south, Jay and Joe will be gone. If I am wrong and this guy Barry gets it right, it means we are winning again.

I agree. I don't buy this story. Raheem may not even be kept with the new DC. Fangio just went with what he thought was the better opportunity.

yes but on this board that crap is taken as gospel

look it doesnt add up . then skins let morris interview for DC with the giants and as DC for the skins . i doubt morris was a road block

people are just ticked at the "tampa connection " and are coming up with CSI BS

it is this simple . barry is a "tampa guy " he failed in detroit and they felt perhaps he got a raw deal there so they gambled on a 2nd chance .

he runs wade phillips style of defense so lets see what happens

Chris Russell reported the same thing tonight and no he did not give a named source. Who knows, maybe Tandler is his source. I am not big on either one of them.

Russell also said the Redskins got worse because they let Barker go and he was the best OLB coach in football.

We'll see if he stays or not and then you will have your answer. I don't pretend to know how good Morris is but what I do know is his DBs are in the wrong place about 25% of the time.

Allen keeps saying Gruden makes the decisions and my take on that is he is setting Gruden up if he doesn't succeed after this year. Only Gibbs and Shanahan got more than 2 years under Snyder.

well let me get this straight , the statement has merit because we let a OLB coach go ? really ?

we will see. and by the way gruden is a tampa boy so why would allen set up the tampa boy ?

geez we got barry as DC . lets not get stupid here . if he fails the team fails just as it did when haz failed

what happened 7 years ago doesnt mean it will happen again , doesnt mean it wont but barry is creditted with developing teo and upshaw for the chargers so i doubt kerrigan becomes schleprock

If you believe some reports, Fangio was a lottery-like long-shot for the DC spot here. He didn't want to stick his neck out to be a DC for a defense that's sorely lacking in talent. Of course, some sources reported that Fangio's shiny record in SF is a potential case of "all that glitters is not gold." He was blessed with All-Pro talent in many key positions -- Justin Smith, Aldon Smith, Navorro Bowman, Patrick Willis, Ahmad Brooks, etc -- that made his job really easy. According to these reports, Fangio drew up a basic defensive scheme and let his players execute. With our defense, if he did that, you'd see very little in terms of execution based on the overall marginal crew we've got. Barry apparently is a DC that's different; he'll draw up schemes that supposedly will match our personnel. So, maybe Fangio was a terrible fit here and Barry is a better one. Keim noted his youthful energy is a necessity on a defense that needs to be rebuilt. Fangio wouldn't have provided that. But who knows? We'll see.

We'll see. I don't want to bash Barry too bad, because I am a Skins fan and I honestly hope he and this defense kick butt next year. But this talk of energy and passion doesn't do it for me. These are professional grown ass men. Harbaugh was the same way and his act wore thin, and this was while he was winning.

We went out and got a rah rah, hard nosed drill Sargent on the special teams and ST was still a dumpster fire.

Eagles KR after a long scoring drive.
Giants onside kick
Fake extra point (rams?)

At this level it's about x's, o's, and of course talent.

I promise this is the last time I will vent on Barry. To be honest I had never heard of the guy until this week. His only DC job came while working under his father in law.

But like I said I'm team Barry from here on out.

I hear you on Barry. At first, I thought we got "Barried." But when I started hearing some reports on him, especially those dispelling some of the horror stories of his tenure in Detroit, it put his hiring in a different perspective. As for the rah rah stuff, Keim was pretty adamant that that's a pretty important thing for a rebuilding defense like the Redskins. If so, we at least got that with Barry.

If this is true, just keep digging your hole Jay

Again- NP - worst case Gruden fails & they bring in a much more competent staff for 2016 while still improving the talent on the roster. I don't see that as being that bad of a situation.

Yep & now that this is done it is time to move on. You can't simply state that a coach didn't take a job because the Redskins are dysfunctional or the coaching staff wanted to hire their buddies. There could be lots of other factors to this story. A coach may prefer a certain area of the country due to his or his families preferences. He might have friends or relatives in the area. Who knows. He also might think that the Bears team is a better fit but could turn out to be wrong. Time to turn the page.
