Jeff Fisher won’t say which quarterback will be inactive

Prior to Week One against the 49ers, Rams coach Jeff Fisher said rookie quarterback Jared Goff would be inactive. Prior to Week Two against the Seahawks, Fisher said Goff would be active.

Prior to Week Three at Tampa, Fisher’s not saying anything.

“Don’t know yet,” Fisher told reporters on Friday. “Have to wait and see. . . . Come to the game.”

Fisher has decided that one of the quarterbacks will be inactive. It will be Goff or Sean Mannion.

The decision to suddenly be circumspect could be a sign that Fisher is thinking about using his second quarterback, if starter Case Keenum can’t get the offense into the end zone. Through two games, the Rams have yet to score a touchdown.

There’s no guarantee Goff would be the next man up. Mannion earned the No. 2 spot on the depth chart before the season began; if Fisher gets fed up with Keenum, Mannion could get a chance to play before Goff would be pressed into service. Once Goff is on the field, it will be hard to bench him for Mannion or Keenum, given the move the Rams made to the top of the draft to get him.

Regardless, if the Bucs are inclined to prepare for a second quarterback on Sunday, they won’t know who that will be until 90 minutes before kickoff.

Man Fisher doesn't have a clue what he's doing. :gaah: Maybe he's hoping the Bucs forfeit because they don't know what QB to game plan for. :pound:

He's going to make Goff inactive just to make your head explode. He's playing this up for all the idiot media lol.

Yes and it went by the name of Steven Jackson.

There were many weeks when that didn't amount to much, like Gurley's first two weeks this season. The one spot this offense is NOT lacking is starting RB.

Besides, SJax left St Louis far before the Rams did.

Some interesting things about this match-up. Fisher is 8-1 versus the Bucs. We beat these guys back in 1999 to win the NFC Championship and win our first trip to a Superbowl we all remember. That same NFC Championship week-end held in St Louis, Derrick Thomas was in a bad car accident in Kansas City that eventually took his life. Just some of the musings that get stirred-up with this game.

Whatever the dumbest decision he can make for the offense is, he'll likely choose it.

Even though I enjoyed his tenure as a Ram, I really wish he had decided to leave the team the first chance he got instead of staying for as long as he did. He had his prime years wasted on some really horrible teams that were put together here with no shot at even sniffing the playoffs. One of the few guys that we've had over the years that I think deserved/deserves a better fate than what they got.

I can see Gurley having a big game today. The Bucs D line besides McCoy hasn't played well.

Big break for the Rams I believe the Bucs stud LB David is out of this game with a shoulder injury.

Right up there with C. Long and Laurinaitus, UVA. I hope C. Long gets a ring with Belicheat.

Those were the other two I was thinking about. I always loved the intensity and passion Long played with, going all the way back to his college days at UVA. I definitely think this team misses his leadership more than anything. And I admired him even more when he even admitted that he didn't deserve the contract he had signed with us a few years ago since he hadn't produced with being injured the past couple of years and was willing to come back at a reduced rate. There are very few that would admit to that and be willing to do that. I'd also like to see him get the ring he deserves but I just can't root for the Cheatriots, even with him on there.
As for JL, I liked him as well because you could tell he loved football and played hurt when a lot of guys probably would've sat out with lesser injuries than he had. I'm sure he got some of that from his dad.

I will say I thought after the first game we would miss Long, but last week. The defense seems like they have come together as a group very well, which we haven't seen since the GSOT days. Even with Long, they didn't come together like this group has done.

We can keep Williams as a coach, as well as Brodeau, Singletary and Waffle, everyone else can take a hike.

The Rams did the right thing letting JL55 and Long go. With Hays and Tree a better and cheaper option. Almost seems weird saying the Rams did the right thing for a change.
