Martin should be held accountable for missing a voluntary workout?

or did you mean Incognito?

I am not worried about the loss. I didn't like it, but not concerned either, even with most of the players performances.

Get some guys healthy, get guys some extra practice and rest before Baltimore.

Well, Martin didn't exactly do what I would have done, and I can see how that would be a little trumatic for him. However, if I WAS MARTIN, I would have 1) not missed voluntary (but it is voluntary so not going to hold that against him), and 2) first day I show up to my next practice, I stick my fist in Incognitos mouth until he is spitting up teeth. I mean seriously, someone is fucking with you, take them the F down. I mean this is not a little 5'9" 160 pound RB or CB against Incognito. Martin is about the exact same size. This is football, most these guys have to carry some kind of major aggression to where knocking a guy out in the lockerroom who is F'n with you shouldn't be overboard, I mean these guys hit other guys for a living. Smash his f'n face Martin and shut him the F up.

Except reports are this isn't just Incognito. Reports are Pouncey was involved, you hear Mike Wallace and Cameron Wake say they see no problem and Incognito is a great guy. The entire veteran part of the locker room was with Incognito, you can't just punch a guy in that situation.

Also, some people just aren't wired that way. Here's a guy that grew up playing football under some tame locker-room conditions, for the most part. He shied away, and you would, too, if you felt out-numbered.

I mean, dude is crazy. I would not want to "F" with him.

Why can't you? I bet the locker room would have respected him more. He is standing up for himself, he is not goign to take shit, and there is no reason to toughen me up, because I am a fucking pro football player and if you come at me, I am going to put your ass down.

I bet the lockerrom would have encouraged Martin to go to war, because he is mentally tough and ready to fight for what he has and defend his space. That is growing up and being a man.

If your family is at risk and someone is hurting them, do you just stand around and do nothing in hopes someone rescues you? Shit no, you defend your family, you defend yourself, and you take action.

If I was Martin, Incognito comes over and says hey Douchebag, you buy my lunch today. I would be like, buy your own fucking meal (bad c word) lol. Incognito comes at me, I give him everything I have. At some point, this is a professional lockerroom, someone is going to be breaking this shit up, and in the meantime, I am goign to take some shots, and if I get some shots, so what? I can't imagine NFL sunday's are any less dramtic on your body.

Because, if he's got a lot of veteran support, and coaches, on his side, he'll come out as a guy who couldn't fit in to the locker-room with typical jokes/behavior.

There are times to stand up and be tough, and there are times to be even tougher and walk away. Martin choose the latter, which I think was wise.

I don't think Martin can be criticized for his action, whatever it was. Everyone is different, and while some would take a physical stand against the bully, others might react the way Martin did, and decide that discretion is the better part of valor. He didn't quit on the team, he just walked away from a potentially violent situation, showing the kind of judgement most of us would teach our kids is the correct way to handle the situation. If he had chosen to stand up and get in Incognito's face, that would have been okay too. After all, he was the one wronged.

These are coaches that told Incognito, hey we are goign to need this guy to toughen up and be there for us down the stretch, get on him a bit, prepare him for the long season of mental etc you are goign to get. NFLAM this morning addressed this and said, both Eric Davis and Shawn Merriman, that this happens all the time in every lockerroom, but you have to know how to break down each guy, because some have thinner skin than others, and others require you to ride them hard. That some of these young guys feel entitled and that it could ruin the veteran run lockerroom. When young guys need help, they seek out the veterans to show them the way, to learn from them to progress. They admit that Incognito went overboard, but that what he was doing and taking order from coaches to get on a certain guy to toughen him up, is standard practice in the NFL.

Now that Martin went running off to his parents about the situation and saved all his old texts and showed them to family and media before discussing in house first shows he is a real mommas boy. DE's and LB's are going to be all up in Martin's grill trying to anger him and get him out of his game for now on. He is now a liability to the team more than Incognito is in my opinion. Man up, stand up for yourself, and push back.

Football is not for the weak, either physicaly or mentally. Fight back, don't give an inch, earn respect.

none of the hazing shit makes martin or any other person a better football player.
it doesn't make him tougher... it just makes him think that the team he's on and the people around him are crazy ass unprofessional morons.
