My Explorer gets 25mpg going 75 on the highway. I thought that was decent. My Wagoneer gets 14mpg - also impressive.

If you want to go back to a Pickup go for the Ford F-150 XLT.
Trust me when I say the 2014 has plenty of room inside, my boss has one and rode in it a few times loved the truck.

Thats what mine still gets and it is a 2005. It has a third row seat but it isn't a 60/40 so it is not great for the third row. If you go for a SUV with a third row make sure it has the 60/40, most do these days.

^ Bucket seats in the back instead of a bench. You have to have the seats if you want to access the 3rd row like a human.
