WVU is losing 2 starting guards in Glowinski and Spain. Both were multiple year starters. Both were average Big 12 guards. But neither was dominant. Glowinski was 2nd team Big 12
WVU returns 3 starters
1. Pankey, 6-5, 305, r-jr. Played 8 games as a freshman and started 12 games at LT this year as a sophomore. Not a bad year. Gave up a few sacks. 2 years of eligibility left.
2. Orlosky, 6-4, 301, r-jr. Has now played in 23 games and started 15 at C.
3. Lucas, 6-4, 314, r-sr. 22 career games with 16 starts. Starting RT. Got better as the season went along. Much better run blocker at the end of the year
Guys who have played some.
1. Haughton-James, 6-6, 290, r-sr. 24 career games. Has mostly been the JUMBO TE. Backup tackle.
2. Underwood, 6-4, 298, r-sr. JUCO transfer. Played in 4 games. Guard/Center.
3. Matteo, 6-4, 296, r-jr. Played in 4 games and started 1 at guard this past season. Guard/Center.
4. Lingafelter, 6-5, 304, r-so. Played in 5 games. Guard.
5. Lazard, 6-6, 306, r-so. Briefly played in 2 games last year. Tackle.
The rest.
6. Townes, 6-6, 288, r-jr. JUCO transfer. Tackle.
7. Tezeno, 6-3, 305, r-so. 3 star guy out of high school. I think has dealt with injuries his first 2 years. Guard/Center
8. Brown, 6-5, 295. r-fr. Morgantown guy. Best recruit in the state in 2014.
9. Angus, 6-6, 330. r-fr. Late qualifier. Great size but not a guy that played to the whistle in high school.
WVU brings back 3 starters and 5 other guys that have played to varying degrees. WVU has more experienced depth on the inside than on the outside. I would like to see the line go from “competent” to a line that can impose their will.
