He was one of my favorite defensive players to watch and listen to in my football watching lifetime. So easy to root for.

*There are also a number of older NFL players from the 50s-60s who played at John Carroll but many people wouldn't recognize them.

If Ray Lewis is a hall of famer, then London Fletcher is also a hall of famer.

Disagree.

Not only was Lewis more of an impact player in his prime, he also had more of the "Hey look at me!" quality that people love in their sports stars. Dude was also in funny commercials. He's way more deserving of the Hall of Fame considering what the hall of fame is.

He also had a MUCH better supporting cast. And I'm not sure I agree with the impact player part.

It's always sad to see a truly special player retire, but I'm glad I got to watch him play for so long.

Not sure if he is "officially" retired but he was out of football this year and I doubt a team will pick him up next year so you might as well call him retired.
