A QB with a lot of experience? You mean almost a full season as QB now?

Everything in this thread is direct from Texags......that's YOUR guys post. He STARTED as a QB, and you moved him to WR....then back to QB.

Hell just last week, some of your fans were asking why he wasn't in the Heisman discussion, LOL!!!!

Aggie lives for one game - Texas. If you can beat us, Sherm gets another extension.....THIS is why you guys fail now, and why you'll fail when you go SEC. You don't play to win.....your entire identity is wrapped around beating Texas. You didn't leave to "improve" your program, you left to get away from Texas. A loser's mindset. And nothing will change for you until you guys figure out to stop accepting mediocrity.

Stop hiring coaches that "get" A&M. Stop settling for ONE win against a rival a year

It absolutely amazes me how THRILLED your fanbase was to lose 4 games last year......this is part of your loser disease. After that season, Sherman was the greatest coach EVAR, Deruyter was the best DC in the nation, etc etc......

Now you guys are seeing what everyone else does. That the SEC wants you for TV markets. That Sherm is no better a coach than Fran was. That Deruyter is not a good DC. That the joke is, and always has been, on you.

And in all seriousness - I'm not trying to insult you here, or aggies in general. This is just how most who know and associate with Aggie fans see you.

If I had the time, or cared, I could find just as many Texas fans on blogs and forums that are the same way.

And Ryan was a QB but never played QB for A&M. He was a WR. There are a lot of kids in college that were QB's for their HS just because they are the best athlete. Then never play or practice QB except maybe a wildcat play or two. It isn't like he was on the sideline wearing a headset and practicing to be a QB his first two years.

And your coaching staff put him on the field as a QB.....that's on you guys. Once again, that's a quote from an Aggie fan, not me.

You guys can take a major step forward when you get a real coach that can bring about a culture change at A&M. Someone that doesn't give a rat's ass about your traditions, but that just wants to win. Someone that can recruit, and hire a competent staff.

And just for LOL - the INEVITABLE "we're the best 3 loss team in the nation" thread has appeared on Texags......the jokes just write themselves sometime. I'm waiting on the inevitable 'throw senior savior QB under the bus for the next savior QB that's riding the pine' thread. You and I both know it's coming.

He's a good QB, that is why he got on the field. After a few wildcats they saw he was doing well.

I think the SEC will help get a real coach in here. Look at the other coaches in the SEC. They like to inbreed and move around. Should have hired Sherm as the OC, not the HC. Playing in the SEC gives guys major TV coverage. The bigger name guys will be more willing to come aboard, in my opinion, when we have more to offer. We won't be a favorite in the SEC, but we will be able to get his mug on TV with the hope of an upset or two each year...at least at first.

A big name coach will come aboard because you have EVERYTHING they need.....money (I'm assuming here, because you guys haven't been doing well financially in the past), facilities, a HUGE recruiting bed, and a rabid fanbase.

What makes you unattractive is what makes Aggie, Aggie - old army, redass, questioning nothing, all the ridiculous traditions, all the quirks that you guys seem to love. That stuff is a headache to a lot of the top tier coaches.

But if you throw enough money at someone.....you could get them. Culture change is a must.

disagree about culture and tradition. Most of those traditions are not an issue between the lines, they are in the stands and I doubt any coach cares what is going on behind him. It is loud and rowdy, that is all the team needs. The 12th man is the only tradition that should affect play between the lines, and really is it that big of a deal to suit a guy not on scholarship and that runs down the field on the kickoff? I doubt it.

A&M can count on 1-2 national TV games a year. Hopefully that will change with the SEC TV contract. I think that is all that a big name coach would need, along with the money, the recruiting, and the facilities like you mentioned. We just need a name to recruit with after all. I don't think Mack Brown is that great of a coach, but he can recruit and hire the right coordinators. All about who you surround yourself with, and the rest is done on the phones and in the recruiting arena.
