I had to listen to apart of the Ravens game last season on the radio, due to the tornados and power outages in the area.

It had been so long since I did that. Clearly, I'll choose the visual experience. However, it really was a treat to listen to Joniak call the game. Even if I'd rather be viewing. He's phenomenal. Really detailed description of the game, paints a picture for you both pre-snap and after the play. While delivering the calls with so much energy and passion. You can just feel the electricity. Perfect radio broadcaster.

TV is a different ball-game, but I'm sure he could make the adjustment easy.

Grew up listening to Brickhouse , doing play by play for the Cubs , Bears , & Blackhawks radio & tv. Didn't think any one could match him. But from what I've heard from Jeff , he comes close.
The way Brickhouse described a game ( especially on radio ) , you could close your eyes, & see the play unveiling.

We always listen to the BEARS radio coverage when we watch it at home. 105.9 fm is the only way to go.

I just gut it out and listen to whomever they have on the air....................

Yeah, I don't get why people care so much, to be honest.

I've never been watching a football game and gone; "GOD! This announcer is ruining the viewing experience of this game!"

But… there's nothing that american consumers love to do more than complain.

Just think good announcers make the game that much more enjoyable. Especially when you record the games.
And watch them over & over.
I pay a good buck for my cable. And expect a good product. And what Fox puts out there, I have a right to complain.:suds:

The less games on FOX, the better. Their announcers suck.
Just can't figure how fox got the NE game.:gaah: Should have been on CBS.

You have been watching the nfl for how :lame:long? And you still cant figure out why fox has the Bears-NE game

Yeah, it's pretty simple. NFC team hosting an AFC team will always be CBS… AFC team hosting NFC team will always be FOX.

I prefer Fox over CBS for the pregame, but I could give two shits who announces it. With Madden and Summerall retired/deceased, I lost interest.

Agreed on the pre-game. My life would feel weird at this point without Howie, Terry, and Jimmy on Sunday mornings. Strahan is good too. I can't believe how that guys career sky rocketed after he retired. Something about him is likable, I suppose. But those three, for literally my entire life they've been doing that damn pre-game show. I love it.

I usually do ESPN Sunday NFL countdown from 10 to 11, and then switch it to FOX at 11 for FOX NFL Sunday. I love Sundays during football season so much. I don't do CBS, but they have a pretty good show from what I've seen as well.

Yeah, I have no clue why people get their panties in a bunch over who announces a game. I've never been listening to a football game and been upset about an announcer. I don't get how people literally spend time just hating guys like Joe Buck. Just shut up… we get it. You don't like him. Lol… I'm also like the lone guy who enjoys Buck, but whatever. I think the guy's a real pro and does a great job.

Do Bears fans in general have as huge a hard on for hating Buck and Aikman like most Packer fans do? Personally I don't mind them but everybody here seems to think they are against the Packers all the time. Do you guys see that when they do your games?

I HATE ESPN. I hate Berman, I hate Carter, and Ditka is way out of touch. NFLN is a big barbershop the way those guys act on set. I usually just have one on the TV for background noise while I get the bar prepped for the day.

Everyone thinks Buck is against their team. You should have heard the bitching from White Sox fans during the world series run in 05. Holy shit…

I mean, it was kind of blatant sometimes, but jeez did people in this city hate him.

I was one of them. I'm a huge White Sox fan and Buck was a dick during the WS. But other than that, I could care less.

I don't actually care - at all - if an announcer or analyst is "against" my team or any other team or shows bias. It simply doesn't matter to me. It's like watching a game with other fans who root for other teams. Some of them are good and fun to hang out with, it doesn't matter at all to me that they are my cheerleaders.

What I don't like about Aikman is simply that he's a terrible analyst. I mean...there are just times where I am like WTF fire this guy now. I don't remember examples off the top of my head, but it seems like every game. So I am sure some more examples will be provided soon. Buck I don't mind so much, but I can't stand Aikman.

Lol… I kind of was too. That's the one time he was pretty obviously biased.

For what reason, I have no idea. Maybe something against Ozzie Guillen.

Personally, I think Aikman is a hell of an analyst, considering he's a vegetable.

Aikman is pretty bad. Sometimes he says shit, and I swear his brain must just be mush after the three thousand concussions he had during his career. I don't find him overly likable either. Not sure why his broadcasting career sky rocketed so fast.

Hell, he was a pedestrian NFL QB too.

I agree on Ditka and Carter. Ditka is cashed, it's over for the coach. Sorry. Nothing he says is even credible at this point. I'm not overly high on the crew as a whole, but I just really like Tom Jackson. I also like Berman… I know, he's annoying and obnoxious. But I just like him. I can't help it. I think he's good at his job. The antics make me laugh. If you don't take him seriously, I think he's funny.

I really don't like NFL Network. I can't tell if you agree or disagree from that statement, but Deion and Irvin together is a bit much for me. Marshall Faulk is good. Marriuci is okay. I think Rich Eisen is a good host, but JB is the best. The guy FOX has now too is good.

It's all background noise for my Sunday morning hangover, but FOX is the best background noise, IMO. Howie's great, Jimmy's great, Terry cracks me up in a "drunk uncle at the dinner table" kind of way. He's not too bright, but he's likable and says some funny shit. Also watching Howie get annoyed by him is gold. I like Glazer too.
