I had to listen to apart of the Ravens game last season on the radio, due to the tornados and power outages in the area.
It had been so long since I did that. Clearly, I'll choose the visual experience. However, it really was a treat to listen to Joniak call the game. Even if I'd rather be viewing. He's phenomenal. Really detailed description of the game, paints a picture for you both pre-snap and after the play. While delivering the calls with so much energy and passion. You can just feel the electricity. Perfect radio broadcaster.
TV is a different ball-game, but I'm sure he could make the adjustment easy.
Grew up listening to Brickhouse , doing play by play for the Cubs , Bears , & Blackhawks radio & tv. Didn't think any one could match him. But from what I've heard from Jeff , he comes close.
The way Brickhouse described a game ( especially on radio ) , you could close your eyes, & see the play unveiling.
