I currently have Shane Vareen and Andre Brown chilling on my bench awaiting their return (I dropped Santonio Holmes for Vereen a week or so ago and Mendenhall for Brown today). I'm looking at picking up Crabtree, but I don't know if it will be smart to load up my bench with injured players. My starters are pretty solid and I'm planning for the long term, I just wanted to know what you guys think as this is my first year.

Other RB's: Charles, Forte, L. Miller
WR's: Colston, Douglas, Boykin, Hartline, Hopkins, Jennings

I'd be looking to drop Jennings as I don't know what the hell is going on up in Minnesota. I guess there is a chance that Freeman settles into the offense, but it seems like a cluster. I also have Charles Clay backing up Jordan Cameron and I'm just holding on to him until Cameron's bye week (week 10).

I guess my question is this, am I going to be hindering my flexibility with 3 injured players on my bench, or am I pretty set with starters and able to build future depth?

No, I don't think that is a bad idea in general, but Crabtree isn't worth a spot IMO. He isn't likely to be 100% if he gets activated at all.

I'm higher on Crabs than Tlance is. You're really looking for somebody to jump up and be a solid starter rather than rolling the dice each week with the guys you have, and Crabtree has a chance to give you that (he also has a chance to be worthless, but we're talking about the end of your bench here). I'd probably drop Hopkins for him.

Problem with Crabtree is that he isn't coming back till mid-november at the earliest. He will be productive if healthy and can get back to form and that is a big if. He was Kapernick's favorite target last year.

Yeah, I'd add Crabtree for Hopkins or Jennings.
