It is far more likely that Canelo is using the drug to improve his cardio and maintain a good body fat %, but the drug is legal for purchase in Mexico and Mexican ranchers have been known to use the drug on their livestock. It is entirely possible that it was accidentally consumed, just not very likely.

I hope they fight again in May.
Only thing I fear is the judges.
GGG won the last fight 8-4 so I cant see them giving GGG the win on the cards unless he knocks out Canelo or completely dominates him.
Going to the scorecard this next time is completely in Canelo's favor if they do fight. No way the boxing powers that be want the older guy winning this.

Damn!!! They just absolutely dropped the hammer on him. Proof that they don't tolerate cheating and steroids in combat sports where you're actually threatening another man's life, career, health, and livelihood.

The minimum possible suspension for a first time performance enhancing offense in Nevada is 1 full year suspension. Maximum punishment however is up to 2 years. I can't find the exact rules on monetary fines, but seems to be between 10% and 50% of the prize.

The commission in this high profile case threw those rules right out the window as if they were just guidelines. Instead of the 1-2 year suspension that Canelo was supposed to serve he was hit with a FULL SIX.....months. Retroactive back to starting the date of his first of the two failed drug tests. So in effect a 4 month suspension. To make up for going so heavy on the length of the suspension they cited that his bout with GGG last September did not occur in the same calendar year as the failed drug test, it was not eligible to base his fine on. And since the scheduled fight on May 5th didn't occur (because he was caught cheating) that purse couldn't be used to determine his fine. So since he essentially he cheated for no prize purse, there will be zero monetary fines.

What! That'll teach you to cheat.

    4 months and $0
    ...fuck
