Amore Angel

Walked into a nightclub downtown

It was a Saturday and it was amateur night

Grabbed a shot and a beer and sat down watching a wannabe comedian as no one laughed or cheered

Next was a juggler and then a magician ...Man, I was not in the mood to listen

The MC came out and announced the next act

He said it was this young girl named Angel and she was a singer as she walked out from the back

She must of been around 22 or 23 and her smile lit up this dark room in a downtown saloon

She grabbed the mic with two hands and started to sing

The most beautiful voice I had ever heard...the most beautiful woman I had ever seen

I fell in love right there with her and that light brown hair flowing in the air

I called out to her after her song ...Amore Angel ... Amore Angel

She sat down and we talked for almost three hours

We talked about our dreams and what our destiny would be

She wanted to sing and I was a writer...we sat back and drank a bottle of good Chablis

When it was time to leave she grabbed my hand and told me something that brought me to my knees

She asked to go back to my place and she put new lipstick on

I winked yes oh yes that was cool

As we rolled over the Golden Gate Bridge I leaned over and gave her a kiss

It was on as she put her hand on my knee

I got so worked up I almost hit a cop car only going 33

When we made it back to my place we were locked in a loving embrace

Amore Angel I whispered in her ear...she smiled .. as wings sprouted from her back

It was the night of the big game

I was alone sittin' in the back of the Midnight Train

Giants beat the Dodgers on a Buster Posey home run ...I had a slight buzz goin' on

I closed my eyes and was listening to some tunes

And then I heard a sweet voice and a tap on my shoulder

This beautiful woman who had a tiny butterfly tattoo ..she asked if the seat next to me was taken

I was a little shaken..but I stayed cool

I said sit down darlin' did you go to the game...and then I asked her.. her name

She said my name is Sunshine ...I told her my middle name was Rain

We clicked from that very moment ...15 minutes later we started to Make out on the back of the Midnight Train

It turned out to be a Doubleheader in the early morning rain

As each stop rolled by people stared at us but our lips never said goodbye

It was me that was feeling that I just hit for the cycle

We took a little break to take a sip from our water bottles...and then we started again

This old man told us to get a room

I told him to find his own girl ...or he could stop off at the zoo

We all laughed and talked for a bit

Then shit ...I wanted to kiss her again

As we got close to my stop I asked where she was headed

She had the same stop as me ...and it was a go

One of the greatest nights I will never forget

Two wins in one night

Giants 10 Dodgers 9...and I scored 5 times with Sunshine as it rained

Damn ...I sure love that Midnight Train

Got together with three other dudes that were poor boys but had rich souls OK

They picked the name of their group...you could only guess

I heard from a friend that those boys finally made it and got a record deal

No more livin' on the streets their dream was almost complete

Hey Man ,I had the coolest Birthday dream last night

Man, it was sweet ...everyone was invited

Van Halen on the stage in my backyard jammin away

My pool was cleaned and it had twenty thousand gallons of Jack Daniels in it

The hot tub was stocked full of ice cold beer...can you dig it

Man, it was the coolest Birthday Dream I ever had

Damone was there from Fast Times ...bought be a new box set of Led Zeppelin and scored me front row seats to the Who

Man this party was a zoo

No shirts or shoes allowed...and those were the rulez

Ozzy and Lzzy had a duet over by the grotto

Hef was eating hard boiled eggs and fried chicken with eight bunnies in his lap

Man, I had the coolest Birthday Dream last night

Sammy showed up with a case of Tequila and took the stage with David Lee Roth... Man, I was blown away

Farrah Fawcett was there and her flowing hair

Stevie Wonder was there singing songs of peace

Oh damn a knock on the door ...it was the freaking Police

Everything was cool though 'cause I had Commissioner Gordon in the backyard drink'n up with a 18yr old cutie from next store

I opened the gate and let the whole world in

I told Eddie to turn it up.... gonna blow the roofs off this whole block ( Electric Guitar solo)

Ronnie Van Zant was arm and arm singing Sweet Home Alabama with Kid Rock

Damn this was the best party that ever happened on my block

Super Joe and Buster were comparing Championship Rings

I never wanted this dream to end

Morgan Freeman and James Earl Jones showed up ...the closest to God's voices ...there have ever been

The Seinfeld cast playing quarters by the pool having a blast

Jim Hendrix showed up and had a guitar off against Eddie...as everyone cheered them on

I woke up naked in my bed ...next to a woman's bra and panties ...I said no way !

I worked my way downstairs to the kitchen ...under the table David Lee Roth was passed out sleeping ...had a bottle of Sammy's Tequila in his right hand and he had a smile that made me laugh for a while
