They could only upgrade from Smith to go for a top level QB and theres only a few of those around. The main question is whether the owner would want to spend so much. Would he be more interested in getting the stadium deal first. Its still not clear how cheap the owner is, considering a number of starters are on one season deals at the moment.

this is the difference between alex and arron rogers its the ability to see the play and react in the proper time. 1. You just cant miss td's like that. 2. you gotta reconize that the whole dline on the weak side dropped in coverage and slide that way he was already looking over there thats a clear read that has to be made or down you will go and 3. the even if the pass was suppose to go inside he had the td between bry and the sideline its called adjustment and reading the position of the D and capitalizing witch he didn't do. with that being said when we play Pit lets see if he takes the leap he need to win a Superbowl NFL Videos: Sound FX: 49ers miscues

I would like for us to take a long look at Josh Johnson from Tampa Bay. He has a very close relationship with Harbaugh, played well in limited time, athletic, good arm, local (from Oakland)and will be an inexpensive free agent this offseason.

this is like last season. one loss and the trolls come out

ept_sports_nfl_experts-777542997-1287071729.jpg

its not nearly as bad as i expected? thought this board would explode after the next lost, but its been reasonable.

its no longer that we lost, but how we react following it? don't want to lose two in a row, especially to the Rams. do NOT take them lightly come next Sunday.

There are also the people who simply don't have faith in Alex despite his performance thus far this season.

As I have said before, he has surpassed all of my expectations of him, I was wrong about him, he has done things I didn't think he was capable of but I will admit that I am not sure that he can get better than he has been this year or if he will continue at this level of play.

I guess that makes me a troll.

Do you have faith in him?

No. Never did. I've given him credit for some great games, but I don't have any faith in him when it comes to playing against the big boys of the NFL like Ravens. I even said so in the "Pitt / Balt but not us" thread weeks ago when everyone was riding high on the Niners' bandwagon.

I also don't have any faith in the Niners' WR corps, and I never did since both of the starters were in college.

if Alex can continue what he's doing for rest of this season, i'll take it. agree its now about consistency cause he isn't taking it up another level.

anyways, however he finishes, we all know the big decision will come after this season.

the offensive UNIT should be improving, so everyone should look a little better going forward. so in this sense Alex will have a little better stats, should have anyway. not to mention all the games left against the West.

agree, this team can be competitive in the play-offs and even in a SB, but if the question is faith we have SB winning QB.........................sorry, but don't have faith either.

Alex still hasn't demonstrated he can go out and "lift all others around him". he can't carry this offense to a SB win.

Whipped bitch? Are you talking about Alex Smith because I am not worried about you calling me a troll it just seems like an odd response. Why did you call me a troll?
You once mentioned that I might be one of those guys because I questioned the front office.
