In the Lions defense -- only 1 rushing TD is by a running back. Smith has 78 yards rushing on broken pass plays and 1 td and another is on a jet sweep to a WR for 10 yards.

While 14 carries for 59 yards isn't shutting a teams RB down -- it isn't completely terrible.

Mike I know how you operate. The Dolphins give up 78 to QB and you'd be all over it.

The TD run was not a broken play either. Not designed either. That's the weak spot in man coverage. DBs play the man with their backs turned. He took off before the guy in the back of the endzone made his break. Which I will give you as truly not against the rush defense. Jet sweep and a dive are surely against them.

Damn good thing that most of you Lion's fans are in your 20s. You still think this franchise will turn it around in the near future and be a key player in the NFL. Other 20-30 something types here, think that firing the head coach and GM will solve all the problems. You just don't get it. This franchise is rotten. The ownership destroyed the Detroit Lions decades ago. No shiny 8 foot tall wide receiver will save it, nor will will a psycho DT. You can run a new head coach through Detroit every year, if you want....it will only be a whitewash to cover the rotting cadaver. You guys just don't get it. Trust me....I've witnessed the 50 years of crap. The only thing that will save the Lions is a move to another city and different ownership.

I wouldn't even know if the Dolphins gave up rushing yards to a QB. I don't even pay attention to their box scores.

As far as the QB TD run -- You can call it whatever you'd like. It was a designed pass, he saw an opening and ran. Saying it wasn't a broken play is arguing semantics. In the end -- it wasn't a run play and turned into a run play.
