Detroit desperately needed a #2.

Detroit mass the playoffs last year if Detroit had Tate! Would have saved Schwartz's job but Detroit makes the playoffs!

Tate is what Titus Young and Broyles were supposed to be: a fast sure handed slot guy.

Hard to fire a guy that takes the Lions to the playoffs and the Lions would have won their division. Not saying I would have been happy but IMO the chances are we would have another season with Schwartz.
