No one whining yet that Wood isn't a football guy. I'm very proud right now. Queue the whining in 3....2....1.....

I dont have an issue with it as long as he has no football decisions regarding personnel. Seems like strictly business decision.

Also I like how serious Martha is being about the GM position. Going a completely different route for hiring the GM.

Let's hope the GM hire is a good one.

Internal hire. Didn't expect that.

Pure sarcasm I know...

I didn't expect it either but understand a internal hire for president. I wouldn't for a GM. Anybody who worked with MMI or II should already be excused of any further duties.

I'd almost like to see a coach/GM type guy. At least we'd see one vision. IMO Mayhew was not on the same page with either of his hires.

I really see him as internal from Ford companies. At least he has nothing to do with this team at all.

No sarcasm. I really didn't expect an internal hire. Can't say I'm excited, but ultimately the GM hire is what is most important.

I heard the committee to find the new GM is all internal too.

You can see how I read that as sarcasm.

Yes I read that also. I'm hoping that internal committee was making a final decision on who is presented to them from the firm that was hired. I'm just hoping Martha was a Poison fan. Cause I keep singing Give Me Something to Believe In.

The General Manager of Wealth.

Earlier when I first heard of the hiring. I thought Ol' Watertight Martha had hired Tater Salad. The excitement fizzled quickly. Reality settled back in ..... This Christmas I'm hoping a trusted Ford confidante gets a sale in order.

He's a Michigan man. If he grew up in MI then he knows how bad the Lions have sucked forever and a day

It's worked so well for them in the past.

Like Scott Kowlakowsi being in the roster for decade because his mom was a Ford secretary.

Go ahead. Talk dirty to him.

There is a lot of stories from our past. Some funny, some not, and some that are borderline incriminating. This would be a new chapter. Unless I possibly told the story of the night we would forever look at Brian Urlacher different for life.

A coach/GM rarely works in any sport. It's just too much work for one person. Hell, I just read today that Caldwell said he would have ZERO interest in both jobs. He likes his wheelhouse. Now, 9 out of 10 might coaches think they can do both jobs but only about 1 in 10 actually could. Honestly, it may be 1 in 32.
