Hearing the Lions are getting a jump-start on this week's roster cuts/changes.
Calling around to try to acquire a starting-caliber WR.

Good grief, here we go again.

I'm not really worried about it. But then, I believe Broyles is that guy. For whatever reason, the coaching staff would rather play Burlson than Broyles. But Broyles does one thing very well. He catches the football. In time he will earn the confidence of the coaching staff, and, I believe, fill the role of 2nd wideout.

Unless, of coarse, they trade for A. J. Green.

I think Broyles will do very well, too, but he's a slot guy and we need a good #2 to line up on the outside opposite CJ.

In terms of receptions I think Broyles will be the 2nd best receiver we have, but in this case they're talking position. Megatron is our #1, Broyles our #3, and 4 through 6 are covered, but we need a quality #2. Burleson looks pretty damn bad so far this preseason...

If they could land a legit two wide receiver and a good olb i could see them contending.

They can tell their stories walking, LOL.

Edwards might have been worth a look if he did not get hurt.

ANd yet Patrick "practice dummy" Edwards and hi 4 yards per catch average in the preseason not to mention the drops is still on the team.

Not sure how good these guys are at evaluating talent.

Remember not too long ago when Burleson sent out that tweet about how Edwards was going to have a huge season? Burleson has wore out his welcome here far as I'm concerned. No one talks more and produced less.

In the 3 years he has been here he was the teams third leading receiver twice, and he broke his leg in the 3rd season. Not terrible production at all. Not elite, but nobody thought he was elite when he came here.

The person that was second both of those years was Pettigrew, so I think it is safe to say he has been the teams second best target for Stafford since he was brought in. Now that Bush is here that will clearly not be the case, but I think you are being a little harsh on the guy for no other reason than he believes in one of the young receivers the Lions have.

It doesn't really make any difference. Until we run a full house backfield with a lead blocker, no receiver will be able to get open.
