Hot rumor is Lions trading back to 14 w Atlanta who will take Ed Oliver at 8. My guess is the Lions then take either an OL or CB at 14.

Well, Where the hell have you been?;)

If Quinnen Williams is still there we probably are not trading out unless the other team sells us the farm.

He should be there for us in round 2 if we want him. Round 3 might be chancing it though

Rock or Layne available in round two ? I know you were leaning Layne previously.

Their 1st and 2nd for our 1st and 3rd matches up. Maybe squeeze in a 2020 4th or 5th. and before you state the Jimmy Johnson trade chart isn't used anymore you'd be wrong when looking at all trades outside of team(s) willing to settle for less. More than 90% of all draft trades in the last 5 years are pretty much right on point with that chart.

There is another chart out there that I ran across

Not sure Rock lasts that long but I like him just as much and he may be a slightly better fit.

The Detroit Lions and Miami Dolphins visited Buffalo QB Tyree Jackson.
Jackson (6'7/249) is expected to be taken near the Round 3/4 turn and should begin his career as a developmental backup quarterback. The Lions aren't looking for a starting quarterback, so it would be a tough landing spot for Jackson if he went to Detroit, but the Dolphins would give him a path to starts if he earned them. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that "many believe" Jackson will go "higher than expected."

Hell yeah. I am actually hoping the Lions are able to snag him in the 4th. He has as much upside as any QB in this draft class.

meh. He probably ends up being another Dam McGuire, Ryan Mallett or Brock Osweiler.

I'd take Eric Dungy (Syracuse University we need at least one from that school) as an UDFA before wasting a draft pick on another QB but that's just my take.

I truly believe if it's one of the so-called elite 3 that drops it's Q. Former Bama DL Payne and Allen both had sizeable drops come draft day and both were considered top 5.

Az....... Murray
SF...….. Bosa
NYJ..... Allen (they want to trade down to recoup for moving up last year to get Darnold)
Oak.... White (all they have is Whitehead and Burfict. They beat TB to get White)
TB...…. Oliver
NYG.... Sweat ? Lock ? Burns ? Gary ? (they might trade #17 for Josh Rosen or their 2nd rd for him)
Jax……. Taylor
Det..... ????? (maybe Oak is so desperate for a pass rusher they give up #24 and #27 to go after whoever remains from Sweat, Burns or Gary or Oliver/Q. Williams

2019 NFL Draft: Finding best team fits for five top RB prospects

4) Rodney Anderson: Detroit Lions
Coach Matt Patricia has indicated he doesn't want to put too great a workload on Kerryon Johnson, who is coming off a knee injury that prematurely ended an otherwise impressive rookie season. Detroit added C.J. Anderson on a one-year deal as veteran help, but it would still make sense for the Lions to turn to the draft for depth, depending on how they feel about Theo Riddick and Zach Zenner. Anderson is probably as skilled as Josh Jacobs -- the only reason he'd still be available later in the draft is his injury history, which includes a knee injury that ended his 2018 season in September. He's a very good back, a tough runner who can run it inside or bounce it outside and make an impact as a pass-catcher in the Lions' scheme. The Oklahoma product should be available in the fifth or sixth round, and he could be a steal for Detroit, if he stays healthy enough to let his talent shine.

Three 2019 Prospects Who Can Boost The Vikings Offensive Line | The Draft Network

Nate Davis, Charlotte
So you want a mid-round option, you say? Give me Nate Davis all day, every day. Davis played a lot of tackle in college, but he projects better inside and I love his work in the ground game. Go turn on Charlotte vs. Tennessee and watch Davis kick guys' butts all over the field: he's going to be very good when he doesn't have to protect the edge.

Davis may require some patience, which makes him less attractive for an immediate fill of this need up front. But Davis has the skills to be a weapon in the run game and he's very potent in his ability to grab and steer defenders.

BB_72; They met with Davis at his pro day. He has experience at RT this past year but mostly RG in soph/junior years

Jakobi Meyers Keeps The Chains Moving | The Draft Network

This is a decent highlight breakdown of Meyers. If you like N'Keal Harry then Jakobi Meyers is the 3rd day prospect version of Harry. Meyers has exceptional footwork coming into the top of his stem to release from coverage. He's not Harry in totality but he's somewhat the cheaper version. You could quite possibly get Meyers at earliest 5th round if not into 6th round. maybe.

Lions will host Arizona State WR N'Keal Harry for a private visit

NFL Draft & Combine Profile - N'Keal Harry | NFL.com

N'Keal Harry College Stats | College Football at Sports-Reference.com

BB_72; The more I watch Harry the more I become enamored with his skill-set. @Stomp I owe it to you for going back and taking a 2nd look. I highly doubt if Harry makes it to #43 but if he does, you run to the podium.

On the other hand should the Raiders get silly and want an edge rusher after drafting White at #4 (hypothetically) and decide to pull the trigger by trading #24 and #27 for the Lions #8, I would take Harry with one of those picks (RG Lidstrom would be used on the other pick).
