Just talked to Smitty on the phone and it seems we have a massive misunderstanding here. I apologized for my part in this. These guys have been together for a long time and it'll be a shame to see anyone leave. Not sure how much Smitty wants me to say about our conversation, but it's obvious he's a good guy who cares about everybody. Even Rob!

Smitty is a good guy. I think what you saw is a group of 6 or 7 regular posters saying, "He's my boy - if he goes, I go." kind of thing.

As to the mod assignment thing - I get someone's frustration about having 3 threads basically discussing the same thing. I don't get someone deciding that they have to be merged on behalf of the rest of us. I didn't care, but if I'd been involved in one thread heavily and suddenly had to try and separate that conversation from a bunch of others it'd have pissed me off.

It's your board, but I had liked that this place was more hands-off than the CBS crap that had constant crying to the admins. We're mostly over 18 here and should be able to handle a bit of crying or 4-letter language.
