The Giants sold their “future” to “keep the band together”. Well, the “future“ is almost over, so we can soon look to the future.

In the meantime, other teams are doing what they do. But that doesn’t mean they will lock down the league for the next 5 years. Everyone thought the Cubs were set up for a LONG run. It turned out they actually had a very short window. And we are talking about 2 teams that have a LONG history of killing golden geese (Muts and Puds).

I am not more worried than I usually am. We will do what we do. If we are good, we will be good. If we aren’t, we won’t.

The Mets don't concern much as much as the arms race down south of SF. I wasn't expecting much of 2021 anyway but I do have to say, both 2019 and 2020 were mildly surprising (in the opposite way of 2016). I just hope that the Giants don't start 2021 slow, heat up at the trading deadline nears, keep their tradeable players and then fade again down the stretch. Three years of not further building the farm, if the team isn't that good, will be frustrating.
