“We remain one of the world’s top academic institutions in large part because of our values and standards,” chancellor Gene Block wrote in a message to the UCLA community on Tuesday.

“When members of the UCLA family fail to uphold these values, we review these incidents with fair and thorough processes. In this particular case, both Athletics and the Office of Student Conduct will review this incident and guide any action with respect to the involved students.”

The Pac-12 also cannot be thrilled with the incident given its efforts to expand its global footprint, particularly in the Chinese market. Not only has the Pac-12 hosted regular season basketball games in China for each of the past three seasons, the league also signed a deal giving the Alibaba group the ability to stream 175 Pac-12 games annually in China through 2024.

aka - we will suspend them the first minute of the game to start the season - We feel that's the appropriate punishment.

Why suspension — not expulsion — is the appropriate punishment for UCLA three

I wouldn't be mad if these 3 kids get expelled. No shot in hell it will actually happen, but if you're in another country representing a University and the USA and get arrested for shoplifting, I would think that the punishment should be a little more harsh than just a few game suspensions.

The last person who went overseas and stole something got tortured to death and put in a coma and ended up dying. These kids should've known better.

They should be thankful they're still breathing with the U.S. on edge with foreign countries right now. Damn man. How can some people be so stupid. Have some self-awareness. Besides, aren't them kids spoiled enough? They live in California for God's sake.

So racist Trump bails out black kids for shoplifting in another country. Where is CNN, MSNBC, ABC etc on this story?

Well look what I found on the ABCNews web site. The headline says "UCLA Players Thank Trump" Nice call.

Now that this has been cleared up do you actually believe a racist never does something that helps an African American, especially if he is seeking good publicity from it?

I don't think UCLA or the NCAA has the nuts to actually punish these players. Slaps on the wrists for everyone.

What happened to Fredo Ball's eyebrows did he get tortured by the Chinese, or is he just trying to turn in his man card before most metrosexuals do?

Good thing they weren't caught stealing in certain middle east countries- I think their ball handling skills would suffer.
