Sounds like Scott Frost is going to be promoted to OC here at Oregon. Guy is doing really good for being so young. He really was a great asset to our WR core, turned what use to be an underachieving group into a very deep and successful core. Excited to see him get the promotion.

My guess is after a couple years he will be looking and also a hot name for the next HC job somewhere. Probably a smaller school at first, but a HC is soon in his future.

Thanks for getting our next coaching legend all experienced up. We'll be coming for him in about 5 years.

haha, well either he ends up being Oregons next head coach if Helfrich succeeds and goes pro, or maybe we do groom him for nebraska's next head coach.

But I would imagine Nebraska would want to see him do something as a HC somewhere else first? To avoid a Turner Gill type issue.

there's a big difference from being at Kansas than Nebraska sir

Gill was screwed from the start at Kansas, they're such a bad program to begin with and their fans wanted him fired from the start

If Bo leaves....then I could see it.

As long as Bo decides he wants to be here though, he will be here. If that is 20 years, then it's 20 years. If it's 5 years, then it's 5.

We will not fire Bo Pelini. It will never happen. In the event that Bo does leave for the NFL (which could very well happen), I could easily see Scott Frost as a candidate.

I am not one of those who wants to bring some guy in from the outside who has a big name and proven success. It's not what Nebraska football is all about.

I know, Jed.....you and I see this subject differently.

I just don't want to go down the Notre Dame path. I'd rather keep having 9-10 win seasons with a coach I like, and then have a couple really good years out of nowhere. Kind like Tom did en sech.

Seems like a loyal guy. He could have gone back to Nebraska already but stayed with Oregon. Think maybe if ORegon gives him opportunities he will stay a Duck.

Not saying for sure what he would do, because we don't know.....but I would tend to think as long as any lateral or better position were offered, he would return home.....I think that solely because he is from Nebraska......If he only played at Nebraska, I wouldn't be so sure that he would necessarily leave Oregon for a lateral position at Nebraska.....

But it's all speculation as there isn't any immediate positions at Nebraska and we have to see how he will do in the OC position as well. I wish him well.

Didn't you guys offer him a WR coaching job a year or so ago?

The guy is just such a snake in thee grass though.......

I love having my controversial coach who some people love and some people hate and a lot of people don't believe will ever get over the hump. It makes it that much more fun to watch. I wasn't alive to see Osborne struggle to win that Championship all the years that he did, but I have seen a lot of the old games and I just love how we stuck with the guy until he finally got us over the hump.

Again, I'm not comparing Osborne to Pelini........not at all. I know it's a different time and different situation and all that. I just want to see Pelini figure it out. I've always been a fan of the underdog......and let's face it, Bo Pelini started out as the favorite, but has now turned into the underdog.

It was tough being a Husker fan through all those blowout bowl losses though.......The worst loss ever as a sports fan was that 94 Orange Bowl loss to Florida St.......It was the end of getting beat down by the Florida schools, and we showed that finally we can play with them asshats......

I remember the Orange Bowl loss to FSU.......

I cried. I was young, but I was smart enough to understand that we got screwed over badly in that game. It should have been our trophy cot dammit

I remember the loss to FSU the year before as well, but we weren't even in that game.

There were two absolutely horrible calls in that game, and we still were just a bad field goal kick away from winning that game........but on the bright side, I think that loss propelled the dominance of the Huskers in the mid 90's.......the slogan for the 94 team was unfinished business and they did indeed finish it......and started one of the best runs in college football going 60-3 in a five year stretch......:D
