I honestly can't understand why so many fans are so stodgy with the penalty shots. It's a spinorama. It's not like he gloved the puck, high-sticked it, or kicked it in. The spinorama is completely legal in normal play.

As long as it's a fluid play, I'm fine with it. Spinoramas, fine. Kane slowing down to a crawl, fine. I'd draw the line if a player comes to a complete stop and sits around for a few seconds, but nobody has tried that yet, heh.

Really have to get over that one line in the NHL rulebook. As the NHL has made repeatedly clear, the intent is not to banish moves like the spinorama.

That's a great idea. What other lines in the rulebook should we ignore?

The problem is not a "spinorame", the problem is a Spinorama in the goal crease after stopping. It's against the rule. And I don't care if anyone disagrees with it. It's a rule. We don't pick and choose which ones we follow.

We're not refs, for crying out loud.

Anyway, here's what spinoramas look like.

which rule did Raymond break? this was not a problem with the move but the fact that the puck stopped. if the puck didn't stop (like on his other spinorama goals) then its no problem but the puck stopped and the rule states if the puck fails to carry momentum. or am I not getting that rule. can you quote teh one you are now upset with if its not the puck one moving?
